    Just downloaded the installation guide for a 3" body lift and looked it over.

    Verdict: Holy shit. SO much cutting to be done (lines, bumper, etc.) looks like a lot of work.

    I wonder if I would be able to do adjustable Coils and UCAs instead. That's a pretty penny for those things, but quality would be much better. I just don't know how I feel about cutting steering lines and break lines. Seems kinda sketchy to me.

    I do the occasional beach trips and hit the dunes out there. but nothing crazy. I wont know until I find out how the new gears affect power.

    Don't still need to replace the shocks as well? Or can you get away with just the blocks? As far as bigger tires, I think the biggest I would go is 35". Right now I have the TASK off-road package, blacked out with 285 55 R20. So I would like a 0 offset. Once these tires wear out (just bought a 2018 crewmax) , I may change the tires.

    you don't have to adjust any suspension parts for a body lift. the only thing a body lift does is lifts the cab from the frame. the frame and suspension will remain the same.

    So when is it necessary to replace shocks or get coilovers and etc? Someone told me I should get a 4" lift and get the full kit. I won't do any off-roading, I have the front sensor, so I have to be careful about leveling it up front, I just want a lifted look for s slightly wider tire and not lose any smoothness when I'm driving

    You might be able to clear 38's with an aftermarket bumper. Steers clear of the body lift. UCA's and a good set of coilover's should make your daily and off road driving more comfortable and look nice as well.

    Tyler when you figure. Out what coilover and how high, then you can see what you need for the rear. You have springs, shackles, blocks, and airbags if your going that far. I am @ top setting on my 6112's with a 1" tapered block. This set up left me with some rake, which I wanted. Obviously shackles are a better choice, but a 1" block serves the purpose. :thumbsup:

    yeah after reading over the install, a lot of lines have to be cut. I don't know how comfortable i am with chopping/ extending lines on a brand new truck..

    is the top setting on you 6112s stiff? i heard cranking them all the way up can stiffen the ride a little

    I haven't noticed. What I have noticed is I can barely feel anything going over bumps , holes, etc. I tell ya what is really nice is that big ass Nitto Ridge Grappled plowing through standing water with no steering wheel shake. My take on setting @ the top is I don't off-road with this Tundra and would rather get the height increase via max setting vs setting @ 1.9 like most guy's are doing, then putting shims on top. My mechanic said a shim is fine to correct a lean, but wouldn't recommend stacking shims to get more height. Keep us posted Tyler:thumbsup:

    update: most likely goin the coilover route. just got a quote for Fox adjustable coilovers, parts and install $1050. I still will need some UCAs and the ones ive found don't look very cheap.

    The unit will hold more oil to prevent overheating, so the shock will work as intended for longer when putting to use and should require less service intervals. Plus they look cool.

    I have the 2018 Tundra with the new collision safety feature. If I went with a 3" lift, what would I need in the back so I don't throw it off? From what I understand, it will mess the system up, so I'm not sure at what degree the rear needs to be higher than the front.

    I have an 8in lift and thinking of throwing 3 inch body lift as well.
