Fellas, my 2014 1974 Edition sounds like a car. I was thinking about putting in an aftermarket intake. I did this on my GMC and it made a big difference. I don’t want loud, but something more than a Honda.. Any ideas?

Before considering an intake, consider getting a BAmuffler from @dirtydeeds ...will provide all the sound you need!

    Welcome by the way!

Second BA muffler. Have a 10 inch and it is not loud but sounds great at idle and when the pedal is leaned on a bit.

^^^ what these guys are saying. Any aftermarket COI in the tundras are pretty much a waste of money.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    Welcome from GA!

CAI does next to nothing w/o downstream mods...i.e., exhaust. For that, I will echo others and point you ONLY to @dirtydeeds. There's plenty of BA Muffler options to give you the noise and performance desired.

If you go with a CAI, also search for the Throttle body bypass.

    Thanks for the mentions guys!!

I discovered years ago that a cold air intake doesn’t add power and actually affects driveability in a weird way on our trucks.

For the perfect sound check out

    http://dirtydeedsindustries.com/product/standard-8-system/

It’s literally stock quiet on the highway. Yet very aggressive on the throttle.

    Call for details.

I just put the BAM standard 8 on a few weeks ago and it’s perfect. Cold start, everyone turns and looks, mash the throttle and it’s aggressive but not obnoxiously loud and the best part is it’s dead quiet on the highway when you’re putting in the miles. Simple solution you won’t regret it.

I’ve been running the AEM “cold air” intake for several years. Similar design to the TRD but much cheaper. No difference in noise, hardly noticeable in performance. Combined with the BA Muffler it definitely feels more responsive. Maybe it’s just the noise coming out of the back.

I’d do the cat back first.

Yup, I second this. I love my 8'' Dirty Deeds system. Stock quiet on the highway, aggressive around town, plus it was easy for me to install. @dirtydeeds all the way.

No, I skipped installing the resonator to see how it sounds without it. Very minimal drone around 1600-2000 RPM so I never installed it. The family falls dead asleep on rides back home from trips. On the street, it sounds like a beast. I get lots of looks when I manually shift.

Awesome thanks! I think I will hold off installing that too. (When I finally order my system)
