For all FFV Magnuson Supercharger owners with a BD tune.

I have tune A set. I want to add a tune B with performance shifting and cannot figure how to do it. I hooked the BD up and the went “Install Download” and all it will let me do is reinstall the same “A” tune I have. Anyone know how to configure a new “B” tune? Thanks.

The inital instal was done by my dealer. I’m just trying to create new presets for B and C. My understanding is that I do this via the BD unit hooked up the truck and the BD Agent software on my computer. In talking to BD the other month they basically acted clueless given I have a Toyota with Magnuson SC. Definetly not the best customer service experience.

So far BD hasn’t been as helpful as I would have been expected. Would love to jump ship from them actually.

    Go here

    https://www.bullydog.com/products?g...uHtPFPUO7lNTuZYovtPwIileuGnfbP4BoC3JUQAvD_BwE

Open the folder in upper right corner
    Go to support
    Open GT gas
Read through that on set up

You basically D/L a program then after that you take the memory card out of the BD/TRUCK then install it to the computer, it identifys it then asks if you would like to update it. Then as i rember you set up A,B,C .

DONT FORGET TO EATHER VIDEO TAPE IT OR WRITE DOWN DOWN WHAT YOU SET A, B, C UP AT.

(I forgot what mine are) put a white pice of tape on the backside of the BD whit what code you have in.

Yes, I have the BD Agent running. I watched the video on the install custom tunes. The problem is, they start with 3 tune files and basically drop them onto the SD card. I wanting to know how to create those files. When my dealer installed the SC I believe BD remoted their computer. I might give them another shot and call them this week. I feel like I’m just missing something really simple. Thanks for the info.

So far from what I've taken in , the BD is the key holder for your ECU to be altered to work with the supercharger, as for the size of the BD, up to date service personnel, and dated graphics all need improvement. After you flash your ECU the BD can be unpluged from you OBD scoket.

Might give Torque Pro a try.

Oh yea. My BD sits in my center console. I figured I would get the A, B and C presets setup and maybe try each one for a period of time and settle on 1 and pretty much tuck the BD away in a drawer.

I’m all good now and like I thought, a simple step I missed. Just in case this helps someone else, when I first connect the BD and go to Install Downloads, I needed to “clear tunes”. Once I did that I created my A and B tunes. Upon completion, I get the 550 or 505 error (can’t remember) which means you take the BD to your computer and it will get the files needed based on your tunes and engine, etc. Once finished there it is back to the truck to apply the files. Easy as that. The performance shifting feel so much better than the stock shifting. Anyway, hope this helps someone else down the road.

Nope. I’m solid now. I’m still in testing mode as I think the ECU is having to relearn...at least that was my experience on the SC install. I don’t know. Feels good. Maybe this is different. I’m happy though.

These errors are due to the bd requiring the newest update for the truck. If u get this error you’ll need BD support to use ur PC and add/delete certain files. And do the installation again with the battery charger/module turned to battery. After this “update” my bd seemed to have issues with accurately communicating with the truck, rpms/speed..etc would be locked on whatever the starts info was. I know this is a few months old of a thread but it might be helpful to someone searching this error codes. So if u get this code it’s like a 5min fix if u get ur card reader with memory card in it, truck on charger/box under dash switched to battery with power cord unplugged, and call BD support with assist agent thing it takes only a few minutes

Funny...I googled and found my own thread. Missed this reply. Yes, the errors are normal and we didn’t delete any files. Once you return to your PC with the BD plugged in, it grabs the latest files and downloads them to the device. And when I say latest, that means if Magnuson has adjusted the base tune and released another version, it will pick that up. Then return to the truck and proceed. At least that is what worked for me.
