Happened to me as wel. I took it down and put some crazy glue on those points so they don’t go back up in the future

Just got back from the dealership doing the recall on SRS sensor software update. While I was there I had them look at my map light that was all jacked up. They said they don't sell that particular part separately and will need an entire "overhead console box" which is $432.31. I haven't shopped around (Roman?) but for two map light issues this is turning into a nightmare. Does anyone have a solution for one map light other than replacing the entire overhead console box?

Yup, my driver side map light was flickering so I took it out to adjust it, when I tried to put it back in the prongs bent and I so far can’t get in there to straighten it. Btw. Bulbs were from Headlight Revolution, which I don’t fault for this at all, very happy with the LED upgrades.

I call BS! Betcha they didn’t even open it. This part connected to the prong tends to break with bulb install mishaps. Pry open the map holder cover, there are 3 small torx holding the console up. Take it down off the ceiling.

Look to see if the prong is still connected to the part properly. Carefully bend the prong back where it should be grasping the bulb, and flatten out anywhere along its path, Gorilla glue it down if necessary. If it’s broken you can easily Mcgyver a metal bridge, it doesn’t do anything besides make a electrical connection to this which is commonly the problem inside one of those 3 entries.

Part is Dorman 924-798, less than $20 on Amazon pair.

Ahh, awesome!! Should any electrical be disconnected? The one time I tried using a small screwdriver in there I got a spark...

I originally bought a cheap set on Amazon for about $15. I was happy at first as I didn’t have anything to compare it to, but pretty soon all my leds started flickering as if they didn’t fit well in the housings. I went back and bought Philips vision leds, and they were more than amazon, but cheaper than the vleds. I will say, my philips bulbs now have no flickering but also fit better, and are much whiter. My others had a blue tint to them.

How's the brightness of your Philips? Are they current control LEDs?

This was an old comparison picture of the Philips (left) vs my Amazon lights. I've seen others though where the cheaper lights didn't look as blue as mine, so maybe I got a bad batch.

I can take a picture tonight of the inside of my truck to show the light. I used to have one but I must have deleted it.

I used this kit from Amazon by Check It Auto for my wife’s 4Runner and they are working great so far. Provides bulbs for every spot, plus plate lights, and some extras that I don’t even know what for.

Not sure what the panel type would be if you are just swapping the bulbs. They are all small and the same size. With the light cover back on, it has more of a “panel” look if that’s what you are referring too.

Finally I found one company makes the panel type LEDs but they don't have it for our Tundra. Emailed them to make them for Tundra and waiting for the reply....
