HELP!!!!!!!!!! Just purchased the 6112/5100 combo and plan on installing Friday. Everything I have read I mean everything I read says set the 6112 to the 1.9 setting and this will level out your rig. So I built my 6112 at the 1.9 setting and then decided to check how my rig currently sits. My truck is an 2017 crewmax 4x4 and I have ride rite airbags because I have a 28' toyhauler I haul around. my truck currently sits 3" lower in the front then the back. I checked tire pressure everything is good and I measured from center of wheel to inner portion of wheel well. I also verified that the bags were dropped to their minimum pressure so my question is. Should I go to the top setting of the 6112 since I run airbags to get it level or should I maintain the 1.9 setting. any advise would be great. I only want to do this once.
    Thanks

If go with 1.9. The 6112 will ride better and you won't have a bro lean when you hook up the trailer . Imho

Wait, your truck sits 3” lower in front with the new 6112s? 1.9” levels it out. How is it lower in the front now than it would be stock? I have 6112 at 1.9 and it’s a noticeable gain over stock on my 18’.

I have not put on the 6112s yet. I'm waffling to set them on the highest setting vs the 1.9 setting. Im installing on friday.

If you don’t change anything in the back, adding the 6112s up front at 1.9 will leave you with roughly 1” on rake. I’d definitely go that route.. the truck will ride better and I’m assuming you’re towing a good amount if you already the bags installed so leaving a bit of rake would be a good thing. Just my 2 cents.

Easy solution here. Put a jack under your front end and then jack it up until the front fender measures 1.9” higher than normal. Then stand back and look at it. Then go up to 2.5 and do the same. Your rear height won’t change - rear shocks don’t provide lift.

I would go 1.9” because perfectly level still looks like bro lean to me.

If I recall, 14-17 require 2.5- 3” up front to level. 18+ Only need 2”. 1.9” most def put my 18 level.

    Not nearly enough room here!
1219181051.jpg On my 2010, 6112's on the 1st ring in front and 5100's at stock height at the rear with LT 285-65-18 Michelin LTX AT2's. Truck sits dead level with boat hooked up and all gear and people aboard.

Installed my bilstein lift tonight everything turned out great but my driver side front is about a 1/2 lower then everywhere else. Ended up sticking to the 1.9" setting and it was perfect and the ride is a little more firm then stock but way better then my old Duramax. I love it. Took only abou 2 hrs just me and 1 of my buddy's.

    Passenger side front- 24 1/4
    Driver side front- 23 3/4
    Passenger side rear- 24 1/4
    Driver side rear- 24 1/4

Is there any other benefits other then being perfectly level using a coach builder strut shim

I have same setup. 1.9” up front. Yielded closer to 2.5” even after settling. I put a .5” shim on the driver side and mine is within an 1/8” driver/passenger. I’m anal and the lean would have drove me nuts lol.

Na my 15 is level at 1.9-2” from the pro suspension. Sometimes it even looks like bro lean.

If you decide you want the top height on the 6112's but don't want to add all that preload on your coils, go with the 1.9" setting and add 2 shims on driver side with 1 shim on passenger. You'll get the full height as if it were top clip setting but with less preload and no driver side lean

The super bumps supposedly compress to the exact same height as a stock bump stop. When you lift with shims or spacers you run the risk of bottoming out the shock before it contacts the bump stop. I’ve only seen pictures like this one. 6F10B8FE-A0BB-4F1F-9E27-1F72BA654E80.jpg

I guess the only way to really know how much shim you would need, would be to cycle the suspension minus the spring. So much extra work! I had the superbumps installed with my pro suspension. While they felt great upon big impacts, I could feel them coming into contact during normal driving making the ride a bit stiff. I ended up removing them last tire rotation. Luckily they’re really easy to do.

I am now wondering for my current set up ( 6112s on the 1.9" setting ,driver side shim and 5100s in the rear no blocks or shackles) what would the best size tire? Ive narrowed down to either the 285-70-18 or the 295-70-18 Ridge Grapplers on some Ray 10s. Pros/Cons?

This is the closest post I've seen in a bit that's close to what I'm trying to set up. I'm running Ray 10s and 295s come spring their in my garage. I was wondering if I ran 6112 on 1.9 with 2 shims on one side and 1 on the other with a 1" block in the rear with 5160s how that would sit. I want some take for when I throw my rtt on the back with my stuff so I'm not a brodozer ripping down the road.
