After just one event of only one wheel spinning the limited slip slips a lot more.

It still works in a straight line. Just not in corners anymore.

The Auburn is a solid, well made and widely used limited slip. It is a clutch limited slip, it is not a locker. If one tire has zero traction, ice or in the air, the other tire will not turn. The limited slip equalizes torque, it does not equalize wheel speed.

Did you put friction additive in with the diff oil?

I’ve got two 20 foot long black streaks in my driveway that say otherwise. I was actually quite surprised it did it. I’ve owned a bunch of Jeeps and all of them had a True Trac, Detroit or push button locker in both ends. I didn’t expect a lot out of the Toyota system but it does work. Tested off-road as well and it did fine. Certainly not a locker and I’ll add an ARB at some point.

I don’t know how much of an improvement the Auburn would make over the factory system. For me I will install an ARB. That way the factory system is still doing its thing with the diff unlocked. This will behave much better on snow covered roads than a locked ARB. When I need it, I can lock the rear.

The Auburn Gear limited slip is a huge improvement over our computer controlled open diff so called auto LSD. I've owned a few 4X4's over years going back to 1971 with my first Jeep. Had a few true LSD and lockers. Night and day difference. I prefer the Detroit locker that GM uses but alas not available. Two choices...Auburn or the ARB locker. Several members here have the Auburn and I'd be willing to bet they'd never go back to the open diff "auto LSD". The factory setup will still do it's own thing until the Auburn takes over. I can chirp my my Cooper STT Pros with no problem on pavement too. I'm up in the Colorado Rockies a lot on all kinds of crap mining roads. Our fake auto LSD is adequate at best. ARB up front would complete the package. My 2 cents.

Good input, thanks. I don’t have any issue with the Auburn, I know it’s a good LSD. I wasn’t know how the wheel speed sensor / brake system would interact with it.

My favorite set up was True Tracs front and rear. I had that in a Scout and a Jeep LJ. Never noticed them on dry roads, never slid on wet/snowy roads. Offroad in mud, sand or rocks guys in my Jeep club were surprised it wasn’t locked. Next would be a Detroit rear and True Trac front Too bad theyre not options for the Tundra.

    Maybe a Dana 60 swap...

Yeah I wish Toyota would offer an optional LSD and/or locker. I really like the Eaton. I'm hoping Yukon gear eventually decides to offer up something for the 2007 and up Tundras...wishful thinking...

I ran True Tracs in my Disco II. They were great, I only wish my Disco was as reliable.

Agreed just enjoyed driving the Auburn Lsd up in the snow covered mountains here in So Ca. Roads were snow and ice covered and closed by CHP in some areas. The 4 wheel drive was both sure and planted with the LSD. Not once did I feel the truck wasn't capable. Highly recommend an upgrade whether locker or lsd to the Tundra.

I have a Auburn too, at the beginning it was really fun and a big improvement. But in a year it occurred that it slipped in a corner and after that it does now do almost nothing. Changed the oil and added the friction modifier like the manual says, but it didn't help.

    All the usual stuff!
Clutches in the locker are wore out. You ha e to rebuild it. Or buy a Eaton tru track, no slip no wearing out.

Does a Eaton exist for a 2007 Tundra?

Power Trax Grip Pro is cheaper and better. Mine still feels like it did new but that's what you expect with a mechanical LSD.
