Have the Vision from HD, nice ceramic grill. The temp is controlled by the amount of air available that you control. Longest cook is "beer can chicken", about 2 hours and never opened the lid. Lots of info out there. Store in Denton TX that sales grills in stainless, really should look in to them. Adds lots of options and capacity to the grills. Couldn't justify the cost of BGE. Don't get me wrong the BGE is top of the line and I have cooked on them, just the cost issue.

I went with a BGE instead, found a package price on a large.

Bought a CharGriller Akorn for $250 seven years ago. Basically a double walled metal Kamdo. Keep trying to break the thing so I can buy an egg.

Made these today. Three racks of baby backs.

Then I opened the vents up and let it get up to 650 and burn out all the grease. A stiff brush on the cast iron grate when it cools off and it’ll be clean and as good as new.

I have a kamado Joe myself. Great cookers with the best warranty out of all of them...imo. I steered two ppl towards them (they bought used) and when they have filed a warranty claim on firebox, all they ask for is a picture of the damage and the Joe. They have upgraded the firebox/bowl since and it is awesome. They ship to your door, no cost for replacement parts. That being said, if you are buying new, bge, and primo are good as well. They both stand behind their products. I don’t know how primo handles their warranty(20 or 25) but bge just has u bring into a dealer with proof of purchase and you’re gtg. Pro tip, kJ classic and bge large are the same size and you can buy the kJ divide and conquer and use in the egg. With split heat shields, it’s a game changer. Direct on one side, indirect on the other. Also the kJ jotissarie works in bge as well.

I like mine. I just shake it out in the Joe then remove the ash pan. Takes about 10 seconds to clean the ash out.
