I am averaging 16.1 since I bought my Tundra. I do not rely on the computer for mileage, but mine is consistently within .1 to .2 miles. Every mile accounted for with Fuelly app. I drive back and forth to work every day and it is 80 miles round trip. Mostly back roads and cruising 55 to 65. Several stop signs, 2 towns with combined 12 or so stop lights.

Might run to the John Deere dealer or Lowe's or Home Depot. One weekend trip to Nashville.

Attachwd is dash from when I pulled in the driveway tonight. Completely stock except I am testing K&N filter and 93 Premium fuel for the last 1,000 miles. It has made absolutely 0 difference in mileage.

You can only average 22-23 mpg when the flux capacitor is shifted into hyper-drive.

    So ... don't count on it.

Been lurking for years watching different threads finally joined to add my 2 cents. My 2013 Tundra with the 4.6 always got 18-20 mpg with no mods and factory Michelin tires ( 255 55 R18) Aluminum rims. My new Tundra 2018 SR5 with 275 60 R20's Goodyear wrangler sra gets 18-21 ! No BS! However I switched to Open Country Muders on Aluminum rims and it's now just 14-16 on dry pavement here in Central Oregon. Can't wait for spring but was impressed with the hwy tire mpg on factory rubber.
    @ 50 mph I average 21 mpg
    @ 60 mph I average 19 mpg
    @ 70 mpg I average 17 mpg
    That's with 275 60 R20's hwy tires

Should be better if you don't use cruise and let the speed drop as you go up hills and climb as you go down.

I’m a believer in this. But it also is hard for me to do because it’s irritating when people slow down in front of you.

i got 30.0! LOL.. I don't think it can go higher than that, cause it was on this for a long time. Drove it down a mountain on 4th gear manual and switch it back to Drive, .. it reset only after I stopped and restarted the truck.

I know that when you “accidentally” place your tundra in 4wd hi, your mpg drops dramatically ... LoL

Stock double cab and I get ~12mpg, all short trips, fairly stop-n-go traffic. Comparing the Tacoma and Tundra, as others have said drive both first. I had been put off by the Tundra mileage and was convinced I wanted a Tacoma crew cab -- until I drove it. You practically sit on the floor, the bed is too short to be useful, and it was underpowered. After driving the Tundra, I realized that was the truck I'd been looking for.

Averaging 12.5 over about 10k miles but it looks like it’ll be down to around 11.5 with the 35s installed. I drive mainly city, 3 miles to work everyday with a few highway trips a month.

    Bigger tires affect mpg's.

More weight and less aerodynamics affect mpg's.

Driving style affects mpg's. A Cummins study found that differences in individual driving style account for as much as a 30% variance in observed mpg's. Some people like to mash on the the throttle and some drive like grandma's.

Driving speed affects mpg's. Every 1 mph over 55mph accounts for ~.1 mpg. 50-55mph will yield the peak efficiency, 65mph will yield ~1 mpg less, 75 mph ~2 mpg less, and it quickly goes downhill from there.

Lots of idling and remote starts degrade mpg's...engine is consuming fuel but not covering any distance.

So that's why you have some Tundra owners who can get 18mpg highway without much effort while other owners struggle to get 12mpg combined. Different owners have different factors influencing their mpg's.
