So I'm trying to lose these 20 inch rims and go with 18's so I can get a little more tire. Anyway I'm looking at the flipping outrageous prices for all the rims made by Method, Fuel, etc. Do you boys see an issue running steel rims at a quarter the cost? Is anyone running em and where do you find them in the right size for a 2018 Tundra? I've searched and it seems they make them in 15, 16 and 17 inch but not any higher. Any and all feed back including smart a$$ and sarcastic is appreciated.

Not real sure if you will find them it seems like everything is aluminum. I think aluminum is the way to go just because of weight .I also have 18" on my truck .They where like 1000 .Not to bad for after market wheels .

Don't go steel. I'd just look for some TRD Off-Road takeoffs on Craigslist. You can probably find a set for $500-$800 with tires—there are always a bunch in my area. If you're looking for aftermarket rims pretty much everything is aluminum.

I would run a set of 17” Steelies if I could find a set. Doesn’t seem to be an easy find. Good for price and for me I want rock rings welded to my wheels anyway

I see you're in NorCal too. I'll have my factory 18" steelies up for sale soon. Interested?

18" OEM steel wheels are durable, but a little heavy.
There is nothing wrong with them.

    Depends on your wheel width.

    Steelies are 8.5”

So what is the largest tire width someone tried on a steel wheel ? Just at least that looks better over OEM

Not completely sure, but I’d say 12.5 would be alright. Just have to be careful of your UCA. I think bigger than 11.5-12, you’d be asking for serious rub with stock offset.

SO this would work you think ?
    37x12.50R18
or should I stay down with 35 on stock struts. Also I would probably need recalibrating for sure

    No lift?

You’d be pushing the envelope with 35’s and no lift/level.
As for the width, (I’m not completely sure) but I think 12” would be the max. I’m running 275/70r18’s, with my steelies, they were less than a finger’s width from my UCA’s.

If you’re really wanting 37’s, I’d say go with a 4” lift and get some wheels with an offset of 25-30 or lower.
