my truck is 2 years old and the blazing blue paint seems to scratch and chip super easily. I have rock chips from nashville interstates, and scratches form tn woods. I would like to maintain a decent looking exterior. Any tips? I got a quote of 3800 to wrap it, and even then they said it may not protect paint. I bet I could have it repainted foe

Wrapping takes all the stress out of it. But find a really good detailer. If you can’t do it yourself. That price for the wrap could get your truck professionally detailed for years. Paint correction is needed. You would be surprised how well it will look afterwards. Do your homework on a reputable detailer. Some are mobile and will come to your house or residence.

    tbrown,

When you mention the $3800 to wrap it, are you referring to a vinyl color changing wrap or a clear bra paint protection film wrap? We ask because vinyl color changing material is typically not very durable and isn't meant for paint protection purposes, more so meant for aesthetic changes. While clear bra paint protection film is generally 8 mills thick and its purpose is to stop the very things you mentioned above such as chips and scratches.

Your best bet to maintain your exterior as you mentioned, would be to have any small chips touched up, paint correct any big scratches and then have a clear bra pain protection film installed. Modern clear bra films are self-healing which means fine swirl marks and scratches (like you would get when driving through the TN woods) will self-heal from the heat of the sun. Additionally, they are much easier to clean off bird droppings, bug guts, tree sap, and more.

Let us know if we can help you locate an installer or answer any questions for you.

Call Chris Marlin at Marlins Auto Detail in Brentwood. He has his own detail business and can also do ceramic coating. Great guy and very meticulous. I’ve used him several times and highly recommend him.
