I'm new to truck and DIY maintenance, just started doing some basics on Prius starting last year. This whole propeller shaft got me confused. Manual says that for 2WD only need to retorque every 15k miles. Is this common for all trucks? Or just a Toyota thing? I assume you would grease as well? Searched for YouTube and DIY instructions on doing this but best I came across is a schematic drawing. Seems not difficult according to more experienced DIYers. Any clarification and instructions would be appreciated. Would dealership allow me to watch when they do the 15k service? I'd like to do the basics and leave the complex to pros.
