It plugs into the scan port but has no attachment to hold it in. Seems sturdy enough but a good bump or accident would probably knock it out. I secured mine with a couple plastic coated twist ties. Easy to remove and use again. I zip tied the wires under the dash to secure them. Only need one USB port so have another one for later missions. That's nice.

As I am forced to use the ODBII port and Vantrue "Parking mode" lacks parking detection.
This furfilled my need to 100%, and on top of it all the Garming ODBII connector is rather low profile.
