So basically for most people, this is a lot to do. I didn't attempt to install in on my 64 bit Windows 10 directly.
tl;dr: The cable works. Software makes it a pain. Computers are hard.
I had to disable Google security for web so the download from mega would download to my lap top.
I'm running windows 10 latest version on a gigabyte 17" computer that cost me $1600 I'm very computer savy. After everything downloaded and installed I was able to add files from installation into the ignore section of my antivirus and windows firewall/no need to worry about Google security as I won't be sorrowing the files again as they are on my lap top do I turn Google security back on also.
Everything works and runs and yes me antivirus and security is turned back on with file marked as ignore in all windows antivirus.
Once you understand how to copy and paste the file direction everything else easy. Only bummer is on my 07 Lexus LS 460 I can't get customized feature to work in text stream it reads all components like lighting doors security for the key to be programmed it reads it but it won't let me make adjustments hopefully they fix this I've seen online where you have to use older versions but I work on newer cars so I wanted the newer version of 15 version I hope this helps 👍
Can't write to tpms ecu.
Cable came with this purchase to connect to the obd port is version 1.4.3
I need cable version 2.0 to write to the tpms ECU.
Please send me the correct cable. I'm will to pay for the cable with the updated firmware to write to the tire pressure sensor ECU.
How I got it to work: FYI this a knock-off of the OEM hardware that costs several hundred dollars. It is not a plug-and-play device. I used a Win10 64-bit laptop, followed the video directions on the included CD. Antivirus will quarantine files before and after installation (especially for the cable drivers), be sure to permit them. For the cable drivers, the cable did not work 100% with version 1.4.3, but did work well with version 2.0. The car has to be running in idle for it to communicate. You'll know it's working to some extent if Techstream can read the odometer mileage. In Techstream, seatbelt settings are listed under Custom Settings -> Warnings.
What worked: I was able to disable alarms for the rear seats (which would go off erroneously) and the passenger seat. I was also able to tweak some other minor settings, but there were less options than anticipated. Airbags were unaffected. I did not attempt to view any realtime performance data.
What didn't work: Almost nothing can be changed regarding the center display screen. I bought this cable because I am finding it increasingly aggravating that when I sit down and press the ignition, I am immediately acoustically assaulted by a shrill seatbelt alarm, despite the car remaining in park. Techstream is not able to disable this on-ignition alarm, but rather it only disables the high-intensity alarm that plays if you never put it on or take it off while driving. I will edit this review if I find a better solution than using a seatbelt extender.
