The camera I received came with a red wire, black wire and purple wire. After some troubleshooting, I figured out that I didn't need the purple wire at all. I tapped into the reverse light bulb wiring to trigger/power the camera. After installing the camera in the tailgate, I ran the wire to my passenger taillight, I should have run it to the driver side instead, but I had to change my light bulb on the passenger side, so I ran it to that side. As a result of this the harness ended up being too short and I had to extend it, this probably wouldn't have happen had I run it to my rear driver's side light instead. I removed the taillight from the truck to access the wiring from above. In my Tundra the positive wire in the reverse taillight was blue/red wire and the other wire was the negative. I say in my Tundra because from what I have heard Toyota does not always use the same-colored wires to indicate a positive or negative. So, if you have a multimeter test it. I connected the red wire from the camera to the blue/red wire on the taillight harness and the black wire/ground from the camera to the other wire in the taillight harness. The Pioneer radio comes with a purple trigger wire that I connected to the red wire from the camera. I plugged the yellow RCA jack from the camera to the plug labeled RCIN on the back of the radio and that's it for the wiring. Getting the wiring harness into the cab was the most difficult part for me I ended up going in through a grommet on the bottom of the driver's side door. I did have to enlarge a hole in sill plate that pretty much lined up with grommet hole in the floor of the cab. I used a step bit to enlarge the hole to about 1/2". Then I was able to run the wire from the bottom of the cab into the cab and run the wiring along the sill plate then under the carpet and behind the dash.
I've had the camera for 2 days and it looks pretty good, the picture is clear. I previously had no back up camera so it's nice to have one now. The camera comes with parking guidelines, but my Pioneer radio comes with adjustable parking lines. I didn't want to use the camera parking lines so get rid of them you have to connect a pair of green wires labeled parking lines on the camera harness. These two little green wires are located on the camera harness where you connect it to the taillight wiring. I figured this out after the first day and just removed my taillight and soldered the two green wires together to get rid of the camera default parking lines. Then I was able to use the adjustable parking guidelines on my Pioneer radio instead. The install wasn't too difficult it just required some minor troubleshooting.
Easy to install, the angle is perfect and it looks and works as good as original. Very worth the price.
You will want to connect the rear parking lines in the rear of these cables to disable the parking guides because they are useless.
As far as the handle quality goes. It's acceptable I suppose. There is a bit of play in the lock cylinder which makes locking and unlocking a pain in the butt. I just keep it unlocked.

A 4 door long bed Tundra might be a problem. Best to avoid this if you have one of those.
The tailgate latch was clunky and bindy until I applied a lot of Lithium grease to all the friction points including the actual latches on either end of the tailgate. After doing that it works quite nicely and doesn't feel like it's about to snap off. Others report poor operation or actual breakage if you don't lube everything liberally. The plastic isn't as thick as the original part and I don't expect it to last forever. But after lubing it's opening nicely which is what we all want out of a tailgate.
Camera doesn't do the dark too well. Backup lights don't give me enough light to differentiate between the driveway and the grass. Brighter backup lights may help....
The camera DOES give me a great view of the trailer hitch area which is my main concern. I'll keep it since it checks that one main box.
For the price it's OK if you don't need to see in the dark. Just remember that the cable is just about exactly the right length and that the tailgate latch will feel broken until you hit it with some long-lasting lube (meaning grease, NOT WD40)
