This part is actually pretty thick and it worked perfect no issues whatsoever I'd buy it again.
The stock cover seems to be about 2mm in thickness.
The flat lip region along the circumference is about 7 mm wide.
Fill bolt head is 24 mm which is the same as stock but is a taller head for better interference with a wrench than the somewhat low and flat stock fastener.
I was initially planning on drilling holes and using m6 bolts but given the limited width, I might go with m4 Allen bolts or studs. I. I plan use 8 to 12 Bolts along with a gasket material to seal the differential. If the lip were wider like say 10 or 12 mm I could have used m6 bolts which would be way better at providing clamping force.
I don’t want to weld this on the differential because it involves welding on cast iron, heat exposure of all the internals, and possible warping.
I wish toyota had a bolt on cover but it is what it is.
Hope this works out and helps others.
