Yes they are plastic but they have held up very well on My Class C. They have 3 levels of height. Its easy to backup on them. You need one for each tire so it you need to back up on a dual rear wheel you need 2 per side to share the weight of RV. To level we roll up on the level then check inside with 1 ft level to see bubble it we need to go a little me we simply pull up to level to and measure again, and if we need to go up the 4 inches we easily pull up there. We used to stack 2 by 8 wood but this is just way easier and safer. I see a lot of Rvers using them as we travel too.
One thing I did that is not needed but I did it to prevent mud and the levelers from sinking down in mud and give them better traction was I bought a few cans of spray extending foam insulation and added enough that when it exspands it rises just beyond the bottom of ramp. Then with a sharp long knife trim flat across the bottom leaving just a little over hanging. Now when we ride up it pushes down on the foam and holds it tight from moving or sinking and it also adds to the stability of the ramp Not that it needs to be added for stability but its a side value of the spray insulation foam. Its an option one can do like I did.
