This bulb is significantly brighter and a bit more even than the original bulb in my 2008 Toyota Corolla, and it fits well. The six LEDs on each side of the bulb face to the left and right sides of the brake bar, causing the brake bar to illuminate evenly, much better than the original bulb which was brighter in the middle and dark toward the sides. After looking at all the other LED options on Amazon and then handling these bulbs, it is my opinion that these are the best quality and highest brightness available as of this writing. Too many of the other bulbs have lots of tiny LEDs that overheat and start flickering, or are circular which would cause a bright spot in the middle of the brake bar.
There is one improvement that I believe could be made to this bulb: I wish it was brighter to match my taillights (I purchased the
Antline 3157 red and yellow LED bulbs
for my taillights and turn-signals--very pleased with those bulbs!). Even with the OEM bulbs, the brake bar was dimmer than the taillights when the brake is activated, and that issue still persists (albeit improved) with these. If the three LEDs on the top were removed and an additional row of three LEDs could be squeezed in down the middle on both sides for a total of 3x3 (9) LEDs per side instead of 2x3 (6) LEDs, I believe it would significantly improve the brightness and performance of this bulb, at least for brake bars. It would also cut down on its excessive height (it is about a quarter inch taller than the original bulb).
