works great, small, fits into extending and hiding the wires of my hand free bluetooth added to my truck

Used this to extend and locate the blue tooth hands free I added to my truck's radio, this and a stereo 1/8 extension, and was able to neatly route the the blue tooth and hide the wires. Small size of the small box with the buck regulator in it, fit nice behind the windshield pillar. So far, I've not noted any added noise to my stereo.

Product arrived quickly but was faulty. Wired it into my 12volt over head power but it put out nothing on the USB female connector. I already had my truck torn apart and didn't want to wait a couple more days for a new item. I verified it had 12v going into the transformer and 5 volts going out with my volt/ohm meter. So I decided to cut the usb connector off and solder the power directly to my device power cord. Everything works as it should now, but was certainly an extra step that should not have been needed.

Update: 1-25-20 my trucks batteries have completely died several times after sitting several days since the install of this item. I finally performed a parasidic draw test and found this item pulling .5 amps. Well above the 50 milli amp allowed. When the converter is disconnected the parasitic draw drops to .01amps. Very disappointed with this item and would not reccomend to anyone.

This product is very compact and it does its job. I have only had it for a day but I am able to get an output of 1,000mA with my Samsung S7 edge with one USB port being used. I don't currently need or use both ports at once so I'm not sure how it performs in that aspect, but it works great.

Expected "high speed" charging on my Nexus 5x

I installed this directly into the dash of my truck. I would have been easier if the USB ends were round instead of rectangular (you can't drill a rectangular hole :-) ) Otherwise they work fine. I had expected they would charge my device at "high speed" but sadly, they do not.
