The white running 'mode' is as bright as driving lamps looking at them, and people need to remember that parking lamp housings and lenses don't focus light to the ground. They do light up the ground somewhat, but not like true "driving lamps" do.
The functionality of these are spot on. Running/parking lamps on, they're white. If you have no lights on, and use your turn signal, the amber flashes. Brightly! Lock your car, amber. Unlock, amber. No white, not even a flick of white before amber. While your running/parking/head lamps are on, these bulbs are white. Not a blueish light, just a true white light. I'd say closer to 5000k than 6000k. When turn signals are activated, the white turns off, and immediately amber begins to flash. After the turn signal has been cancelled there is a brief pause before the white running light turns back on. Just like newer cars with turn signals near DRL's and headlamps.
INSTALL RESISTORS (or replace flasher relay with an LED flasher relay) to avoid hyper-flash. My 2011 Traverse (and most newer GM's, including my 97 Grand Prix) has no flasher relay, as the flashing is controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module)
I had installed these bulbs on June 23rd, 2015. They are still working as new, and properly.
*UPDATE* - 1-1/2 years after install, and bulbs are still functioning perfectly!
*UPDATE* - 4 years later, one bulb has failed. The wire connections are no longer secure inside the end cap, connections fall out of bulb when removed from socket.

Now my review is still 5 stars but after 4 years I have some yellow LEDs in the switchbacks I've ordered starting to go out. Not sure why but the forward facing ones behind the glass projector lens stopped working on the 2 units on my passenger side which is interesting to me that they both stopped working like I got a bad pair because the other pair on the driver's side is working just fine with no issues.
They have worked for over 4 years and I get plenty of compliments on them. They are super bright and I'll gladly buy another pair to replace them!
UPDATE 05/06/2016: Of the four (4) replacement LED bulbs that were delivered to me this week, two (2) are now working properly. My modification of the bulb sockets of my new $300.00 Spec-D Headlights was successful, and the bulbs seem to be staying plugged-in. However, as delivered, one of the LED bulbs had a "white LED chip" not lighting, and needed replacing. And last night, the other the LED bulb began flickering and malfunctioning. Both bulbs were securely plugged-in... And the resistor wiring and harness wires are all 5X5... So, both bulbs in the first shipment of last week were delivered "defective". Both replacement bulbs are currently working, but my confidence in this product is rapidly waning. This OEM has some R&D and Q-C work to do!

These are not a direct replacement, plug & play proposition for every application.
For example, while LEDs along these lines are routinely sold as suitable for 3757 (PY27) running-light/turn signal bulb applications, they were not--at least in my case--without considerable modification to the 3757 bulb sockets in my Spec-D Projector Headlights.
The truth is, between auto brands these bulb sockets for any given bulb-type are not nearly as standardized as you may think. And it may be necessary to modify the bulb socket and/or LED base to achieve proper bulb fitment. In fact, for some people, it may be easiest to splice-in a more compatible bulb socket to achieve a secure-fitting LED bulb. Failing to do this could cost you dearly.
Keep in mind, that when you wire-in the recommended resistors to cure the annoying hyper-flash that these LED bulbs cause in many vehicles, you are also circumventing your vehicle's safety feature that tells you when a blinker bulb is burned out. And that could lead to serious loss of property, injury, or even death, if your LED bulb fails and you are unaware of it.
For my own application it was necessary to significantly modify the bulb sockets in my new Spec-D Projector LED U-Bar Headlights, to get these LED bulbs to seat properly. This was achieved with a Dremel Conical Grinding Tip on a cordless drill, used to pare away excess and unnecessary plastic so that the LED bulb could seat as deeply as possible inside the socket. I also made a slight modification to the LED-base by removing the small tabs that weren't serving any purpose in this application. Anyway, it looks like it worked!
And I'm a lot smarter and wiser about LED automotive lights than I was weeks ago--that's how long I've been fiddling around with this, as time allowed. Man, what a hassle! And nobody locally knew much of anything--and didn't want to learn!
Spec-D doesn't answer emails and their live-chat guy knew less about this particular headlight than I do.
JMD was very interested in helping me, but evidently had no first-hand experience with this particular situation to offer me any practical advice. And to be fair, this is a budding new arena, and there's going to be a learning curve for all of us.
It was another LED Bulb vendor out in California, a You Tube Video: "How To Make A 3157 Bulb Work In A 3757 (a/k/a PY27) Bulb Socket", plus some deductive logic on my part that made this work. Years ago, I installed aftermarket A/C in cars and trucks and we made much more radical modifications than this, with good results. My Switchback LEDs now fit securely enough that I can trust them to work and not fall out inside my headlights!
Two LED vendors opined that these modifications would not void their product warranty, as they have no impact on the electronics involved. Likewise, the modifications I made in no way compromises the integrity of the Spec-D Headlights (I just wish they hadn't selected such an oddball bulb and socket!). And indeed, the LEDs work exactly as they're supposed to.
How do these Switchback LEDs compare to the JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 3030 Chipsets with the black-colored bases at $32.99? These produce slightly less "white light", but offer slightly more "amber light" for signaling purposes. I like these slightly better in my Spec-D Headlights. And yes, the same modifications were necessary to make either LED fit properly in the Spec-D's.
In truth, both Switchback LEDs work impressively, and I could live with either one.
Ordinarily I'd knock off a star for the useful information that did not accompany this product. And I'd knock off another star for the bad LED I just received the other day (one of the LED chips does not light up). But when you look at competitive products, and stand back and see how cool these things look inside my Spec-D Headlights, I like them very much! Those amber bulbs looked "lame" in the ultra-cool Spec-D's.
Was it worth all the hassle? Yeah, I suppose it was, given that I persisted as I did. And those stock amber bulbs really bugged me...
If I have any more issues I'll splice-in friendlier bulb sockets, and if necessary, buy assorted o-seals to get a weather-tight fit. But I should mention that when I tried these switchback LEDs in the OEM Chevy bulb sockets, they didn't fit much better than they did in the Spec-D's, and they're sold as direct replacements for the recommended 3157/4157 bulbs used there.

I used them in the rear light of my camper. Good fit. Much brighter than incandescent, making it much safer. Especially when bikes are attached at the back.
Con: don't last long, poor quality for that price, bought four bulbs and all for bulbs are defective in less than an year
