Customers are mixed about the cord size of the pressure washer. Customers have mixed opinions about the pressure of the pressure washer. Some mention that it has excellent pressure, ease of assembly, and tow-away, and a good selection of tips and nozzles that allow you to adjust the water pressure to suit your needs. However, others say that it was not as strong, the pressure hose reel is terrible, and the washer doesn't run properly if air bubbles get into it.

I purchased the SPX 3001 in early July of 2020. It works very well.
4 Stars
I purchased the SPX 3001 in early July of 2020. It works very well.
Pro's: I've used this pressure washer to clean my home's vinyl clad steel siding. It did a good job, did not damage the vinyl, and it removed all the dirt, spider webs, leaves, pine needles, etc. without a problem. I've used it on my 5th wheel camper--it cleaned the bugs & dirt off quite nicely. I've used it on a 29-year-old wooden green-treated deck and it cleaned the dirt and detritus mildew out of the wood grains, which removed all the black mold or lichens living on the dirt. Please reference the pictures I've uploaded showing the deck boards being cleaned, and showing adjacent areas not yet cleaned. I've used it to remove the grass growing between the bricks in a walkway--it blasts the grass & weeds right out. Of course, it also removes the sand from between the pavers, but I anticipated that, and had a bucket of sand ready to sweep back into the cracks. I've tested all five spray heads--they work as described by the Amazon page and also as in their owner's manual.Con's: It's a little bit noisy, but not so loud that hearing protection is desired. I imagine a gasoline-powered pressure washer, if it were a whisper-quiet 4-stroke motor, might be quieter. But a two-stroke gasoline pressure washer would be far too loud, and I'd have to wear hearing protection. The power cable supposedly can be manually coiled & hung from a large plastic hook. I don't find that efficient. A retractable / spring-loaded retrieval coil / reel for the power cable would be an improvement, but this is merely cosmetic. If the vendor had provided a nice Velcro cable management strip, it would easily deal with the loose power cable that tends to come loose and drag or fall on the ground when the unit is tipped to roll on its wheels. The reel used to roll up the sprayer's hose is stiff to turn, no matter whether pulling hose out or reeling it back in, and the reel's fold-out handle is too short to provide sufficient leverage to enable a person to easily and quickly roll up the hose. The wheels upon which the washer can be towed are stiff to turn. Not so bad that they don't turn, but they are a bit stiff. Perhaps they'll wear in, or perhaps I'll try a bit of lubricant on their axles. The manual says to only use water or the manufacturer's liquid soap. I'd like the option of using any liquid soap--perhaps Dawn dish washing liquid--but I'll stick with only water for now, and will purchase some of the SunJoe liquid soap and see how I like it. If it's expensive or smells harsh or doesn't do a good job, I'll stick with water. But I count it as a "con" that the manual states I shouldn't use anything but the one recommended soap, which SunJoe makes. As with any pressure washer, it's possible to damage what you're spraying if you choose the wrong nozzle, or get the nozzle too close to the surface being sprayed, or leave the spray on one spot for too long. Follow the instruction manual and test cleaning places that aren't conspicuous, so you don't make mistakes everyone will see. Softer material, like wood, can be over-sprayed, or sprayed too harshly or slowly, resulting in wood between growth rings being etched away. Don't use too powerful a nozzle, and don't spray too close to the surface being cleaned. For others who may remark that their sprayer has too much noise AND has no pressure, it's likely their garden hose isn't complete clear of air bubbles. That may be the sole thing I'd wish to be different--the pressure washer doesn't run properly if air bubbles get into it. It's VERY simple to correct the problem, though; just turn the power off and hold the trigger down until all the air has run through the hose and out the spray nozzle. Every other electric pressure washer I've owned had this same issue, and it's just a matter of training to remember to hold the trigger open while the water is turned on and the electric is turned off, until no more bubbles come out. It takes time, though--particularly if you have a long garden hose that has a lot of air in it.Remember this pressure washer is not compatible with hot water. I have a 125' black rubber 3/4" garden hose, and the water within it gets almost boiling hot when the hose sits in the sun. Be sure to run all that hot water out of the hose before connecting it to the washer, so only cool water is being supplied. The four stars are for the wheels being stiff to turn, and for the hose reel being difficult to use to take up the pressure washer's hose. If both of those had been as I expected--easy and efficient to move the washer and roll up its hose, I'd have given five stars. And perhaps as I use it more, the hose reel and washer wheels will break in and begin working perfectly, instead of only acceptably. I'll submit a second or updated review if that happens. For now, I say buy it. Mine works well.I recommend this unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars SPX-3001; I’m Impressed!
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2019
So this is the first time I’ve ever used an electric pressure washer and I really am impressed. I’ve never owned a pressure washer before this one but I’ve used gasoline powered washers many times through the years. Even the smaller gas powered washers start about 2,800 PSI, 800 more than the Sun Joe but they’re also about twice the price. If you have a LOT of square feet of concrete to clean you probably want a gas powered unit simply as the higher pressure will allow the wand to have a wider spray with still more cleaning power. Having said that I did also purchase the Sun Joe 10-inch Surface, Deck and Patio Cleaning attachment (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E0DPVYC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I was able to do our patio in about half - 2/3 the time of the last time I cleaned with a gas powered washer. I like this attachment but it takes a little getting used to, to produce good results. But it’s inexpensive. The cleaning power of this electric unit is excellent. The yellow spray head does a great job on concrete (actually better than the 10” disc) but it’s only cleaning a path about 2” wide. Of course that width varies on how dirty your concrete is and how close you have to hold it.

If I have any negative comments at all it’s the cable management for the electric cord. The 3001 does have an “ear” on the top backside to drape the cord over but there’s nothing corresponding on the bottom to be able to wrap the cord around to get it tight, so it dangles. Minor issue, if even an issue.

If you want to make the setup even sweeter, put quick disconnect/connect connectors (QD’s) on the gun. Both the male threaded on the bottom where the pressure hose connects and the female connector on the front where the wand screws in are 22mm threaded connectors BUT, there is a difference besides just male/female. The connector for the pressure hose has a 15mm ID but the connector for the wand has a 14mm ID. These NEED TO BE MATCHED appropriately. These 15mm ID pressure hose connectors are apparently unique to electric pressure washers. Seems gas units are almost all (if not all) 14mm ID connectors. Fortunately not a problem as Amazon has everything you need.

For both a male/female 22mm x 15mm QD for the pressure hose I used; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GNJFWNR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works perfectly. These are 3/8” plug/connector instead of 1/4” but that’s a good thing as this connection will see maximum pressure and this is a heavier connection.

For both a male/female 22mm x 14mm x 1/4” QD for the wand to gun I used; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HMHBLRD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and again, it works perfectly. The only reason to put a QD on the wand is if you plan on using different accessories beside the wand that came with the unit. Such as a foam cannon, the above 10” cleaning disc, perhaps others. Sun Joe provides this stupid connector called a transfer adapter for the 10” disc. To use it without QD you have to unscrew, the wand, screw in the transfer adapter, connect it to the disc, on/off, on/off, on/off, this gets old fast hence QD’s. You will need additionally however https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0778LRDCR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to screw onto the transfer adapter then making the cleaning disc a quick connect/disconnect accessory. If you buy Sun Joe’s foam cannon you’ll need this adapter for it to as it also uses the stupid transfer adapter but if you buy something like MATCC’s foam cannon with the 1/4” plug (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CE78VO8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) it plugs right into the QD you put on the gun.

All in all I consider this an EXCELLENT purchase! It is so nice not dealing with gasoline, oil, noise (the Sun Joe is a bit noisy when you pull the trigger but no where near gas powered and it goes silent when you let go of the trigger). It’s lightweight (~32lbs), rolls easy enough and you just flip an on/off switch and pull the trigger.

NOTE: If you have any issues with the pump sounding like it "racing" and little pressure, check FIRST you water supply and pressure. At one point I connected two hoses together (for reach) with two of the inexpensive brass shutoff valves in the mix and the shutoff valves restricted the water so much the pump couldn't work correctly. Too out one of the shutoff valves and things went back to working normally.
