Works perfectly for a 2012 Toyota Sienna LE with the 3.5L V6 engine. Changed the oil yesterday, can't believe how simple Toyota makes DIY easy maintenance on their vehicles. Dealership wanted $90 for oil & filter change. I bought this oil filter socket, 7 Qts of synthetic oil ($44 Mobil 1 EP) and oil filter ($10 Fram Ultra), a 2 1/4 ton car jack with jack stands ($15 off Craigslist) and did this all myself in about 20 minutes. This socket works great, spins the filter housing off with ease and seems to be heavy duty construction to last for many years. You do need a 1/2" drive ratchet to fit this, preferably attached with a 4-6" extension to make the job easier. Great buy!

Perfect Oil Filter Socket

Toyota/Lexus use a somewhat unconventional filter cartridge housing and this fits it perfectly. It is not required to service the oi filter, but this provides a solid fit and makes removal and installation very easy and allows use of a torque wrench. My only ding would be that it uses a 1/2' socket not a 3/8" one but that it not a serious problem*. Wish I had seen and ordered this years ago!

*Added note, filter is even better because it lets you use a 3/8" socket extension to access the oil drain port thru the 1/2" wrench opening on the filter socket while holding the cartridge in place! More than worth every penny!

Did not work for 2010 Toyota Highlander V6

This product did not work for the 2010 Highlander V6. The tool didn't fit securely over the oil filter housing. There was some wobble. While I was able to remove the oil filter housing, I was not able to tighten it back to the 25 Nm spec. The cheap metal flanges bent. Also, I definitely recommend using a 1/2" drive to turn this tool, rather than a 21mm socket. The 21mm socket was a bit loose on the tool, which also contributed to the overall loose fit.

I give it a four star rating despite a problem I had. The problem is that I bent the dome of the oil filter socket off center while trying my best to break the oil filter housing loose, using only a 12", 1/2" drive breaker bar with a 13/16" socket over the 'nut' on the back of the oil filter socket. The previous owner of my new-to-me 2007 Camry SE had the oil changes done at a quickie oil change joint where power tools were used to torque the drain plug, housing cap, and housing all to the same 'correct torque'...'next to impossible to remove by hand'. Even though I was able to remove the drain plug and the filter housing cap, I could not get the filter housing to loosen. I had to put the dirty oil back in the engine and go to a quikie oil change joint. For $10 they loosened and re-torqued the oil filter housing with their heavy duty oil filter socket and a torque wrench. Returning home, I changed the oil. Even though my oil filter socket now rotates off center due to the bent dome, I was able to remove the oil filter housing and re-install it at the factory specified torque.(20 ft/lbs) The company is willing to give me a refund but too much carbon will be generated in the process of returning it...so I'll make it work.
