I have these installed in my 1997 Miata, and while a lot of people say you can't achieve very high sound quality in a Miata, these make that possible. I have a Planet Audio 2 Channel 600W amp powering them through 14 gauge speaker wire coming directly from the amp, giving each set ~150W RMS, and these things are incredible. Even in a minimally-insulated car with lots of road and wind noise, the sound produced by these things is incredible. I have the tweeters mounted just a few inches from the woofers in about the 2 o' clock and 10 o' clock positions, and the imaging is great. Even at highway speeds I can hear everything as clear as day. I did a lot of research before choosing these components, and ended up going with them over the Polk Audio 652's. The bass isn't as good as I hoped it would be, but is still ample, tight, and accurate. After all, these are component speakers, not subwoofers. With a bit of tweaking of the amp and equalizer settings I'm sure I can increase it a little bit more. I've only listened to them for a few hours so I can't wait until they fully break in. For the price, the sound quality is definitely hard to beat. In an older car of mine I had a set of Kicker KS Series coaxials and these blow those out of the water. They get loud and stay clear. Dynamat with these is a necessity, so I'd recommend getting at least a 10" x 10" speaker kit to help with vibrations.

I have had these for exactly a year now. Here are some of the things I have realized about them over the year (and believe me, I drive a lot so these have hundreds of hours of listening time):
-You have to amp these! Even if you're sending them 40-50 watts each they'll sound so much better than they can with just a head unit. I'm sending them 75 RMS each and they scream.
-They are built extremely well. Heavy, sturdy, with gold plated screw terminals. Nice stuff.
-These kappas have incredible mids. This means they truly excel at music with instrumentals - guitar especially. Genres like rock, classical, metal and piano are just effortlessly reproduced. This also means female vocals come off so clear and forward that many types of electronic music are also a strong point (Think of the song "Roses" by The Chainsmokers).
- Someone looking for a 6.5 with a lot of bass presence will be seriously disappointed. While it is true they lack a little in the bass *volume* department, the bass is very accurate and punchy. You still need a subwoofer though.
-I can't stress how clear these speakers are when properly amped. I've had numerous people who couldn't care less about car audio comment how clear the speakers sound. Like the 'listen solely to NPR while I'm driving' sort of people.

TL;DR: These are clarity-focused speakers that excel in midrange frequencies. Pair them with a subwoofer and you'll have an impressive system. without spending too much (I know how it goes).

These Things get to a loudness that's beyond bearable. And they are unimaginably clear. Don't listen to any review that says these sound "ok". They did not install them right or simply didn't power them right. I was pushing 100 watts each channel and the speakers scream. There is some bass - I'm new with a 4 channel amp so I don't know how to get the most bass from them. I get my bass from my sub anyways so even when I did get the bass from the kappas I couldn't really hear it because of the sub. So I just put the amp filter on to rally push the mids on the speakers and have no bass. This will let you push the speakers more than if you were to keep bass on the kappas. So if you're having issues with odd vibrations or clipping at higher volumes - try lowering the bass on the eq or using the amp filter. You'll be able to get louder and more power with little to no bass. Buy these if you want to know the true meaning of clear music. Good for any genre of music. I listen to it all - rock, metal, hip hop, dance music, alternative.

I DIRECTLY REPLACED THE BOSTON ACOUSTICS SPEAKERS IN THE DOORS OF MY CAR WITH THESE INFINITY SPEAKERS.(TWEETERS AND WOOFERS...1 FOR 1)
FABULOUSLY CLEAR, HEARING SOUNDS ON DIFFERENT TRACKS I NEVER HEARD BEFORE.. VERY FUN AND INTERESTING. I FIRST INSTALLED THE TWEETERS USING THE ORIGINAL FACTORY CAPACITOR AS I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I BYPASSED IT. I INSTALLED THE LARGE SPEAKERS BY CUTTING OUT THE FACTORY ONES WITH A DREMEL MOTO-TOOL FROM THE CYLINDRICAL HOUSING AND MOUNTING THE INFINITIES TO THE CYLINDRICAL HOUSING WHICH I HAD LEFT INTACT. I HAD READ THAT SOME SPEAKERS REQUIRE A "BREAK-IN" PERIOD TO LOOSEN THEM UP. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE CASE WITH THESE. AFTER A WEEK OF LOUD ROCK ADN ROLL, THE BASS "LOOSENED UP" AND IS WELL DEFINED AND TRUE WITH A WIDER RANGE THAN A NORMAL PERSON WOULD EVER WANT OR NEED. I RE-INSTALLED THE TWEETERS TAKING THE CAPACITORS FROM THE FACTORY OUT OF THE CIRCUIT AND THE RESULT WAS PHENOMENAL! THE SOUND STAGE IS INCREDIBLE AND THE REPRODUCTION IS SO FUN AND INTERESTING, I KEEP TRYING TO FIND OLDER TRACKS I HADN'T HEARD IN A WHILE JUST TO FIND NEW SOUNDS. THE CAPACITORS, IT SEEMS, ARE THERE TO SUPPRESS CELL PHONE CRACKLE AND POP. I FOUND THIS OUT ON THE FIRST PHONE CALL AFTER REMOVING THEM. THE SOUND IS SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT THEM, I WILL TOLERATE THE OCCASIONAL SPARKY SOUNDS. I HAVE NOT REWIRED TO INCLUDE THE CROSSOVER BOXES WHICH MAY INCIDENTALLY HELP THAT SUPPRESSION, BUT I AM HAVING SO MUCH FUN WITH THE NEW SOUNDS, I'M AFRAID THE CROSSOVERS MIGHT RUIN MY GOOD TIME.
