Customers like the airflow of the fan. They mention that it circulates the air in their RV much better, and is very quiet. The ceiling fan function and the exhaust fan literally pulls so much air that it feels like the fan, and it's quieter at 50-60%. The reversible fan allows for fine-tuning your ventilation, and can be set to auto so the camper will vent hot air itself.

    We love it
The fan was easy to install. Peel off the old caulking carefully and remove the old fan, install the new one per instructions, seal with self leveling dicor (I already had a bunch of tubes). I had power already from the old fan, so that was easy. I bought the wired wall control unit separately so I don't have to keep changing batteries in the wireless remote. I had to run an rj45 network cable through the wall - the port is right close to the edge so most standard network cables won't fit. I ended up using a home made bit of cable that uses a crimp connector as they're a bit lower profile and fitted nicely. You can also just buy the maxxair wire but it's a bit more expensive. We love the fan. Our old one was super noisy, we keep leaving the new one on accidentally because it's so quiet. The airflow is great and we've had it open in heavy rain storm and no water came in. I wouldn't normally leave it open in the rain, but just wanted to test it.All in all, would recommend and very happy to the extent that I'm considering cutting a new 14" square hole for another one in our living area.

5.0 out of 5 stars In or Out airflow, quiet, rainproof, remote control, variable speeds, thermostat, ceiling-fan mode

I loved this fan so much in my trailer that I bought a second one for my camper. It is easy to install, high quality, easy to use, runs quiet, and a bargain in my opinion. It was a nice finishing touch on my camper that adds a touch of luxury that wasn't there with the original, manual crank, can't-use-when-it's-raining, can't-use-when-it's-closed old piece of junk that was there before.

My wife loves this fan because she likes to change the settings in the middle of the night without having to get out of the bed. She also loves being able to have the air flow IN while the exhaust fan over the stove flows OUT. She is an awesome cook and great cooking needs ventilation.

People complained on these reviews that you cannot close it while the fan is running: FALSE! Just click the open/close button (on the panel or the remote) and there you go.

People complained on these reviews that it uses an IR remote (you have to point it at the unit, like you do with a TV remote) but I find this to be a benefit and not a drawback because I wouldn't want to accidentally control the one in the camper when I am trying to control the one in the trailer (or else my wife will get very mad at me), and I definitely wouldn't want someone camping next to me to control my fan.

This thing is awesome and well worth spending hundreds more than you would on a basic piece of junk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Replaced Broken AC with Maxxfan
Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2016
Firstly, I have say that I have two Fantastic Fans in our trailer - one in the bedroom and the second over the kitchen. I use them constantly throughout the summer. I have had this 29ft camper for 11 years now and I can honestly say that I can count on two hands the number of times I actually used the AC in preference to the fans. Doors and windows have to be shut for the AC to work. It is so loud inside the camper that you cannot carryon a conversation or listen to the radio or TV. We don’t travel where it constantly gets over 35C. Nor do we suffer high humidity. AC is not of much value either when you cannot plug in.

So when it came time to do my last semi-annual check of the AC, it failed. Replacement quote was $1096CND plus installation. After a little soul searching, I could not justify laying out that much cash for what amounts to a roof ornament. So with he help of a friend, we hoisted the broken AC off the roof and I installed the Maxxfan 7000 with remote. Chose this model over a comparable Fantastic Fan for the integrated vent cover and the overall good online reviews. They are rather pricy but the build quality looks excellent. Amazon had the best price but be careful, it can increase over $100 when stock gets low. The remote was required due to the ceiling height. Installation instructions are clear. There is also an excellent online video to follow. Search for Maxx Fan Installation by RV Education.
