    It's a Viair so the quality is kinda automatic. It’s ready to go out of the box, just have to wire. I rigged quick disconnects to the leads because I didn’t want to drill through my fire wall and I don’t need it all the time so I don’t want yet another permanent hot off my battery. Works just fine, used to inflate 35’s, power an impact and inflate an air mattress and a kayak. Super handy! Mounting is a hassle due to limited space on a Jeep so if you’ve got one you may need to get creative. I welded up a bracket that bolts to the wheel well and utilizes one of the hardtop bolts.

    One suggestion i would make is to use a relay that closes the 12v power to the compressor when ignition goes hot. I used the stereo 12v switched wire, and ran 12v from battery. if this isnt familiar to you just google Normal Open relay. you can get one at radio shack. Otherwise if there is any small leak in your system this will cycle on/off while your car is off, draining your battery.
    This isnt a defect in the Air Compressor, just good practice for you to do when you install it.

    The compressor runs for about a min to charge up to 0-150psi, and about 30sec to cycle ~100psi->150psi.
    It isnt that loud. its in the back of my wrx wagon, and a couple clicks of the volume knob drowns it out.

    i also removed the strange compression fitting for air outlet, and used, i think, a 3/8" bushing to 1/4"NPT bushing and more typical 1/4" Quick disconnect air hose fitting.

    Well worth the price! i am absolutely satisfied.

    Very nice,motor is not loud. I decided to mount this inside as the motor is not really for outside use. It has a muffler/air filter that make it not loud which is nice. Very easy to install as its prewired. Just connect your airline. Black is Ground wire and accessory wire to red wire so it won't run when truck is off and your done. Take only couple of minutes to fill tank and my son blasted the train horns about ten times and i didnt notice it was less air then the first time. Very happy with this
    Keep in mind you have to use the drain plug everyonce in awhile as all compressors pull moisture from outside and it collects in the tank this is normal anyone complaining that they see rusty water from the tank dosnt know anything and should learn before they complain

    Okay, shipping was crazy fast. Like one day shipping and I checked the standard prime 2 day but this came in 1. Anyway perfect compressor, very well made, very small and fit perfectly under car , I managed to take out the half inch NPT compression fitting they put in the tank for your air output and put in my own .5 inch NPT barb fitting with red lock tight. Holds air perfectly no leaks can blast my horn a good minute before it turns on. Love this I will definitely buy again.
    Update, few months after purchase, still working like a champ. Love it, no signs of rust or corrosion even being underneath my car, still going strong!

    Purchased to run both air lockers, emergency tire inflation, blow up beach toys/ air mattress, and an air horn. Works amazing and survived 2 months of offloading. Spent about another $100 to seperate the compressor and tank so the compressor is mounted up high in the engine compartment and the tank is back by the gas tank. Ran a 1/4" plastic line from the compressor to tank and from tank to a quick connect fitting up by the tailgate and the aluminum manifold also up under the hood for the blow off valve, pressure switch, lockers, quick connect, and air horn. Have filled up an SUV tire and a car tire so far and it takes a 2-3 min from flat to 35psi with the tank starting off full.

    I purchased this air source kit primarily for a pair of air horns I wanted to install. In my opinion, this was better than trying to piece together a compressor, air tank, etc. My only complaint is the fitting that comes pre-installed to supply the air. I had to use a different one for the 1/4 air line I was intending to use. I also wish they would have included a wiring diagram of some sort but as long as you have some basic electrical knowledge, it is pretty simple to get everything hooked up. I was surprised at how quiet the compressor is when it's running. You might not even know it is on if you mount it in the bed of the truck like I did.
