    Love it--Hate it!

    Love it--Hate it!
Love how quickly it pumps up a car tire for normal pressures around 32-35psi. Hate how it it slows down for the truck tires when it's at 60psi but will gladly admit, much more air output than a previous and cheaper inflator. Eight minutes to go the next 10psi from 60.. Hate the air hose and power cable. The entire weight of the coiled hose is on the valve stem for the right rear tire on my truck as it barely reaches. Sit there and hold the hose if you don't want the stem to be tweaked from the weight, but you're on your own to turn off/on the unit unless you have an assistant. If you have a crew cab long bed, don't bother unless you purchase a longer air hose or air tank. If you're lifted, most likely will need to use air tank for rear tires. For cars, more than enough length between the electrical and air hose combined. Hate the plastic protector at the valve stem end of the coiled hose. It seems this is only to protect the connector and keep it out of the dirt, but that plastic causes one to cuss while connecting to shorter valve stems that just clear wheel covers. It gets in the way. Luckily four Philips screws make for easy removal so your neighbors will not have to hear you cussing as air escapes from the tire. Hate the screw on connector. Sometimes the rubber o-ring doesn't seat the properly (sounds of air escaping) and you let out even more air while you unscrew it and re-try connecting. BTW, it wasn't cross threaded, it was the O-ring. I know the difference between properly seated and not seated. Unsure if a replacement quick connector with metal holder will stay on the valve stem at higher pressures, but I have one on order to test. Hate the hit-or-miss built in gauge. One tire was almost over the 44 psi max cold limit while the stupid gauge showed much less. (Impossible? I assure you it wasn't me and two other gauges agreed.) Moved to the next tire and that stupid built in gauge was almost correct. Seriously off on the next tire, Slightly off on the next and so it went for all the tires. (Hence the hit or miss description) Love the low tone when it is running. Love the carry handle because this thing does get hot when pumping up the truck tires. Hate the plastic air filter housing. It uses a foam filter inside like a weed whacker and with such an apparent sturdy unit, just seems like a cheap after thought to me. I remove mine after use based on a previous review where it snapped off. Love the 1/4 quick connector for the hose. I think this will probably be the saving grace for me to keep this thing as I can find an air hose and replace the aggravating coiled hose. Just try removing the hose and pulling carefully so you don't tweak or twist it to a crimp while trying to reach the far end of the vehicle, and one will understand the aggravating part. Love that unit doesn't move when running. Love the battery clamps so I didn't have to buy/create my own, but might end up doing that anyway to lengthen the power cable. Hate the carry case. IMO, case will not last if you check your tires frequently like I do, the material is so thin, a few times of removing unit from case will surely cause issues, as it is a snug fit. The case does have some nice touches that I love...buckles to help distribute the weight while carrying and also separate compartments for the unit and the hose. The box and packing styrofoam works better for me at the moment. YMMV. Love the weather cover on the switch, but amused at the ventilation holes on top of the unit. That's the motor under those ventilation holes. Unsure if said motor is sealed as I don't recall anything in the manual--so I'll keep it out of the rain.I probably wouldn't want to inflate a tire in the rain anyway. Hate the rubber on the quick release connector side of the hose. It cannot decide if it wants to stay on the metal collar or not. Especially after a tire is finished. Reach for the connector--Sometimes pulling back catches the collar, but slips slightly and the hose stays clamped on. Sometimes the rubber slides back without the collar and one cusses some more. (Hi neighbor!)We'll see how long the unit lasts...Update -11/2022. As mentioned above, ordered and have been using the quick connector for the hose end and much less cursing while removing from the valve stem. Plastic air filter housing is still good, but as mentioned previously, I do remove it after every use. The Fuse holder and fuse appears that it will melt and fail soon, but have a fuse holder and proper sized fuse plus wire ready for it. Noticed some other recent reviews where it did fail. Still using the box as storage. Added an extension air hose, from the other big US retailer (W) <$20. One of the rubber feet is gone, but it still stays put with three.Update: Feb-'23. Attached a picture of the clip on connector I settled on. That one replaced the folding connector with a hose. I can actually put in the plastic protector on the hose from the original review. Why I like this connector? It can stay in the hose without having to remove it when packing the stuff back into the box. The time this connector saves is noticeable. Fuse is looking ugly from the melting, but still hanging there as the unit is working.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2.5 Year of Use Update: Good Air Pressure, Reliable.
Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2017
I used this to refill Jeep Wrangler tires after deflating them for a trail run.
I used it attached to the battery without the engine running with no problem. The manual says nothing about requiring the engine to run when using the air compressor. Other compressors like Harbor Freight require that for the extra voltage.

    The Good:
    * Nicely painted, looks quality.
    * Plenty of hose and power cable length. The power cord is long enough to allow it to sit on the ground and the air hose easily reached the rear tires when attached to the battery in the front engine compartment.
    * The carrying case is nice. Strong carry straps and easily fits everything without a struggle to put it in.
    * It has a convenient power switch on the unit.
    * It was reasonably quiet when pushing air into the tire.
    * Works well without having to run the engine.
    * Good air volume output at about 2.5 cfm. almost 2x as much as I could find for equivalently priced units.
    * It took 2 minutes to fill a single 34" tire from 20pst to 35 psi.
    * Not too Hot. After filling all 4 tires immediately one after the other the unit was not to hot to hold or put back in the bag.
    * It comes with accessories for filling sport balls and air mattresses. It filled an air mattress in about 45 seconds.
    The Bad:
    * The air pressure meter was very inaccurate. It read a good 9lbs too high! I used a separate and accurate meter to measure the air pressure which was also confirmed by the cars internal air pressure measurements.
    * The air pressure meter has no calibration adjustment but I did use a permanent marker to mark the plastic face of the meter for 35lbs.
    * The air filter is super cheaply made and must be removed before putting back into its carrying case.
    * The stem attachment is screw on vs a quick disconnect.
Update Note: I replaced the air pressure meter and the reading now is very accurate when the compressor is not running. When the compressor runs it obviously has to pump air at a pressure higher then the tire so you will see the meter bounce around at a higher pressure then the static pressure but when you turn off the compressor the meter should read the final tire pressure. The original meter was 5-10lbs off. The replacement meter is very accurate confirmed with 2 other pressure meters.
Update: After 12 months of use, its still working great. Say used 1/week on average to fill 4ea 34"; tires. Takes much longer to fill at altitude about 7000ft.
Update 6/2020: After 2 1/2 years of use and I would estimate used 100 times the compressor has worked great until today. After it just about reached tire pressure on the last tire the unit suddenly stopped. There is a inline fuse and when I checked it, the plastic case was melted around the fuse. The fuse had not blown but the melted case caused a disconnection. The wires were unusually hot and I suspect the contacts at the fuse were slowly building up resistance causing the compressor to draw more current and make the wires hotter. The unit is provided with a spare fuse and I replaced it and the compressor was working fine. I had a kit of Jeep fuses but they are mini size. The fuse used in the compressor is 3/4" wide. Ive included a picture of the new fuse installed and compared to a Jeep mini fuse.

    Conclusion:
Even with its issues this is a good value especially for the volume of air it provides. Long term reliability is good after 2.5 years. The air pressure meter needs to be replaced for accurate readings.
