More than 1 Billion Colors

Discover Realistic UHD Picture Quality

The Samsung UE590 UHD monitor offers PC viewing, gaming, and more, all in stunning Ultra HD picture quality. With resolution that's four times higher than Full HD, this ultra high-definition (UHD) monitor delivers stunning images that use a staggering 8 million pixels for unparalleled realism. Enjoy the latest 4K content with incredible lifelike detail that makes you feel like you're actually there.

AMD FreeSync with 1ms Response

Enjoy smooth images, even during fast moving scenes. AMD FreeSync dynamically syncs the screen refresh rate with the frame rate of your content to minimize input latency and dramatically reduce image tearing and stutter during gaming. Plus, with a lightning fast 1ms response time, you'll see even the fastest on-screen motion clearly and smoothly with less motion blur, judder, and ghosting. The fast response time provides a steady visual allowing players to experience their games at a higher level.

Experience More than 1 Billion Colors

This UHD monitor gives you 64 times more color than conventional monitors--an incredible 1 billion colors. That means that movies, games, and other multimedia content appear detailed, natural looking, and extremely realistic. More colors also ensure a smoother transition between different tones for a richer, more accurate picture.

Easy Multitasking with PIP 2.0

With Picture-in-Picture (PIP) 2.0 technology, you can watch your favorite movie or video in one window while simultaneously working on a spreadsheet. PIP 2.0 maintains the source's original resolution--up to Full HD--so you enjoy a crisp, clear picture. You can also adjust the size and position of the PIP window to fit your needs.

Connectivity for UHD-compatible devices

You can connect multiple Ultra HD devices, like PCs and gaming consoles, to the UE590. There are two HDMI inputs as well as one Display Port input on the back panel. Enjoy upgraded HDMI support with an upgraded HDMI (v2.0) that supports UHD resolutions at a 60Hz refresh rate, so 4K content plays smoothly without delay.

Sophisticated, Sleek Design

With thoughtful design and engineering, the UE590 is much more than a monitor with stunning looks—it’s carefully designed to keep the focus on your content viewing pleasure. It comes with a stunning matte black body framed by a narrow bezel with a metallic rim, elevated by a T-shaped stand with a matching metallic touch.

Eye Saver Mode

Eye Saver Mode

Eye Saver Mode optimizes your viewing comfort by reducing blue light emissions and flickers at the touch of a button. Read documents, play games, watch movies and edit photos for longer periods of time, and experience a more comfortable, more pleasing view, without worrying about eye strain or fatigue.

An Excellent Investment for the Future.
***Please note that this is the UPGRADED U28-E-590D model, over the identical U28-D-590D model. The main differences is, the HDMI 1 input(the first one, nearest to the DisplayPort input) has been upgraded to HDMI version 2.0(from version 1.4). Also, this new version includes AMD's FREESYNC technology for PC gaming. The older model only includes a GAME mode picture setting, which this newer version also includes.***I was lucky to purchase this during the Prime Day promotion, which discounted this monitor to $300, so at that price, this is my 5-star rating review. Even at $400, I still think it deserves 5 stars. One of the key things you should notice is, this monitor has a TN panel, not an IPS(or PLS) panel. For the most part, the general consensus agrees that TN panels are better for gaming because of decreased input lag, and better color accuracy, while IPS panels offer better black levels and contrast, and viewing angle. To my average, unprofessional, and untrained eyes, I can sense some of those things.I used to have an LG 34 IPS monitor, LG Electronics UM65 34UM65 34-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor, which I bought for $600 almost two years ago. Now, there is a newer version, LG 34UM68-P 34-Inch 21:9 UltraWide IPS Monitor with FreeSync, for about $450(you can find a deal sometimes for under $400). At that time, the LG by far had the best image quality I have ever seen in any monitor or television. The images seem to literally pop out of the panel, and the black levels and contrast were superb. Overall, I would say that the LG has a little better image quality. But what I love about this Samsung monitor, is its scorching brightness - if you set the brightness to the maximum 100, you might just go blind - it has a brightness level of 370cd/m2. It also has Freesync, which is awesome for gaming if you have a Freesync AMD graphics card. And then finally, it has 4K resolution. You might not think you can tell the difference when you set a resolution this high for a monitor that only has a screen size of 28 inches, and to be honest when I was using the older version of this monitor on a Windows 8 computer, I was not impressed either, as Windows 8 didn't do a good job of scaling like Windows 10 does, so everything looked tiny and really hard to read. But with Windows 10's scaling options in the display settings, you can easily bump up the size of app icons, text, etc., making great use of the 4K resolution. Once you see how crisp and fine text and high resolution elements look in comparison between 4K and 1080p, you will never want to go back.So if you can find this monitor at a great deal as I did, or even at up to $400, I think it is a great investment for the future. With the DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 ports running at 60Hz, you are future-proofed for when you upgrade your computer for the future. This technology should last you at least 5 years into the future. Now, all we have to do is wait another 2-3 years until those 31/32-inch 4K monitors from Samsung and LG drop down into the $500-600 price range....**UPDATE: July 29, 2016 - As I just finished this review, Amazon has them in stock again for $400.****UPDATE: July 29, 2016 - If you want a good IPS alternative, there is this 27" 4K monitor from LG: LG 27UD68-P 27-Inch 4K UHD IPS Monitor with FreeSync, and the white version: LG Electronics 4K UHD 27UD68-W 27" Screen LED-Lit Monitor****UPDATE: August 13th, 2016 - As I have had more time with this monitor, I must say the viewing angles are not as good as the LG 31" 4K IPS monitor. If you are not in a magic spot of only a foot, the color shifts are glaring, especially the vertical angles, which add a red hue to the screen. To be honest, with the lowering of prices of 4K monitors, I am now more inclined to advise you that this is only a 5-star product up to $400.**
