ED-209 is freaking awesome! Everything from the paint, to the articulation. There is a minor paint error. The warning signs say "Dangerous Subtances." But in your display case, the incorrect spelling will not be noticeable. Awesome figure & worth the price.

Well, first off I loved ED since I saw Robocop. I bought mine off of Sideshow Collectables. This version is just incredible. Ed is a monster too. He is huge!! He stands about 13 inches tall (with his legs all the way down) and about 14 inches wide (from toe to toe). The paint job (on mine) is immaculate. He has about 30 points of articulation. He also has a battle damaged arm as well as his normal arm so you can switch them out. I do like that for the front of him (the black part) they used rubber and not just hard plastic like the Necca version (I have him as well). Some places have actual wires. While other spots they are just painted on. Overall he is very detailed and you can see a lot of love went into making him. He also has 3 sayings and a remote to make him talk, but I did not put batteries in him. I'm afraid I'll forget them and they will end up leaking and ruining him. Here is what he says:

1. 'Please put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply.'
2. 'You now have 15 seconds to comply.'
3. 'You are in direct violation of Penal Code 1.13, Section 9. You have 5 seconds to comply. Four...three...two...one...I am now authorized to use physical force.'

Here is my only issue with ED. There is a small piece that you put on his right arm. It just sits in a hole. It doesn't click in and there is no magnet to hold it. So the piece could easily fall out of his arm (it already happened when I moved him). Now if you have his arm at the right position or have his rockets out and ready to fire (no the rockets don't fire) you'll be fine. Also I don't know why the rocket weren't already in his arm, but whatever, again it's a minor point. Those minor things aside. I love this version of ED. They did a great job and I feel he's worth every penny I spent.

I spent 410$ on sideshow for him. I know that's a lot of money, but he's worth it to me.

Wow - what can I say - this model has lived up to all my expectations. And it has lived up to most of its reviews, not only on Amazon but on other sites too, It is a huge model, the attention to detail is astonishing, the colours, shading, battle-damage and the range of movements make it an essential collectors item. My only grip is that some of the sound effects are obviously not from the film, but considering the detail and size of the rest of the model its something that can be easily forgiven. However, I do think that hottoys/sideshow should give less attention to sound effects and concentrate more on movie accuracy and lowering prices, as in the case of this and the Robocop figure. Although gimicky and possibly seen as a selling point, the sounds are irrelevant. (especially as the Robocop figure drains the battery if its left on and the ED 209 sounds are NOT from the movie but rerecorded for the model.

1/6スケール、という事だったので、今までのホットトイズのフィギュアから想像して、どれぐらいのサイズの箱が届くのか、と思っていたら、持ち手が付いた梱包箱で送られてきて片手で持てるサイズ。
一瞬拍子抜けしたものの、手足をはめ込んで実際に立たせてみたら、やはりデッカくて凄い迫力! う〜む、期待を裏切らないぜッ!!
以前出たネカ社のエド君も良かったのですが、やはり値段分の差は充分にありました。明らかにプロポーションに差がありますしね。
ともかくこの大きさから視覚に訴える迫力は、写真からは伝わりにくいと思います。

基本的に樹脂製ですが、これまでのホットトイズと同様に金属パーツも使っていて、そのパーツもしっかり可動。頭(?)の黒い網目状の所や、関節部分のパッキンはゴムパーツで再現されています。
両脚の膝部分がバランスを取る関係で動かないのと、以前ネカ社で要望の多かった足指は前後の二つしか可動しませんが、それ以外は動くうごく!! 両腕はグルグル回せます!!
汚しはごく控えめですが、映画で初登場した時と同じぐらいですし、デカールはちょっと指で引っ掻いたくらいなら大丈夫そうです。
私は今現在未発売のドッキング・ステーション付きロボコップを予約してしまっているのでまだ手元にロボコップがないのですが、これならロボコップと併せれば映画同様のシーンを再現する事も出来そうです。

あと、このエド君の売りとしてネカ社製と同様にトーキング機能が付いてますが、リモコン側には三個の電池が付属しているものの、本体側にも単四電池が三個必要で、別途に用意する必要があります(計6本)。
起動音を含め、四種類くらいの台詞を喋ってくれますが、サイズに見合った大きな声でおしゃべりしてくれちゃうので、リモコンを押す時は近所の迷惑がない時間にしましょうw
音質はやはり決してよろしくはないのですが、私としては「ROBOCOP」のロゴをあしらったリモコンのカッヨ良さと相殺ですかねw

兎に角、エド君が好きで飾る場所があるのなら買って悔いナシです。あまり詳しくない人になら、「これ、実際に映画の撮影に使ったヤツなんだぜ」、と言えば信じちゃうレベルでしょう。

あとホントに余談ですが、一回手足をはめ込んでしまうと、両腕は取れますが足はガッチリ嵌合して抜けません。いえ、実際には抜けるのかもしれませんが、私には試す勇気がなくて出来ません。
コレクターの方だと、普段は箱にしまっておいて、他のと定期的にフィギュアケースに入れ替えて陳列、という方も多いと思いますが、これはちょっと難しいかもです。
中には飽きたら中古で売って新しいフィギュアを買う、という方もいらっしゃるでしょうが、そこは諦めて一生エド君と付き合う、というのはいかがでしょうかねw
