Has anybody had their truck ceramic coated ? I'd much rather hear first hand experience than YouTube commercials..

have Cquartz on my 911 (did it myself) and had a pro do Ceramic Pro Gold Package on my '55.

I literally take a hose to my '55 and that's all i have to do now....the Cquarts I used was their consumer product, it's not as good as ceramic pro.......but CP was fucking EXPENSIVE....but they put 40 hours into paint correction alone

The car is garaged, only driven 3-4x's a month, but i honestly expect 5+ years out of it, if not longer.

$500 for what product? For reference out here on a new car I'd be looking at $1500 for gold. My '55 was over $3k, but most of that was serious prep

I will never buy a new car and not ceramic coat it going forward. I'll do the truck soon, need to have my wife's car done first.

Not on my tundra (yet). But had my wife's car done couple months ago. We like it. Much easier to wash. The dirt and dust swipes right off. And when you're done washing, no need to wax. The shine is always there. Although, the finish doesn't FEEL like it just got waxed/polished. It feels more like a car that's just been clay barred. But none the less, the shine is there. I agree with others, I will be getting all my future cars ceramic coated. Helps with adding another layer for scratches to get through also.

$500 is for the Ceramic Pro series.. My truck is new enough , under 400 miles that there is no paint correction thus the cheaper price ...

I can't read these threads. Makes me feel like a jerk for washing and waxing only.

Honestly I have to try and not be too obsessive. I swore after I owned a Corvette and ended up never wanting to uncover it and take it out of th garage for fear of blemishes, that I would never do that again. I want to enjoy my vehicle and not go crazy. It's hard though!!!

On my wife's shitty finish it thickens quick. On my 911's cquartz U.K. It'll still foam up, kind of inbetween my wife's car and this.

I'm anal rentetive about washing my cars, its therapy for me. At least one car every weekend. But I can't wash them if I'm scared to get them dirty.

With 3 kids under 6, I don't have the hours I use to. Ceramic coatings make everything soooo much faster.

And I'll save the kids for wheel duty

Where do you buy the ceramic coating? Is this a DIY or do you have to have it professionally installed?

Purchased my 2017 with 21,800 miles in 10 months on the road. Went with Ceramic Pro and a local detailer genius. Mine took 2 stage paint correction and have the gold package which is 5 years. $1,350 for the CM. I’m going to have him detail it twice a year and I wash it properly in the interim. Came out beautiful. I’m only 3 months in so can’t talk on long term.

Lots of places to purchase online....detailed image, autogeek, autopia are only a few. You can do it yourself or have it professionally installed.

Here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, they are offering Gold package C$1899 with lifetime warranty on my 2014 Toyota Tundra Platinum. Expensive but I am still thinking of getting ceramic coating on my truck but the cost of doing it is a downer

My truck will only be driven 10days a month maximum with the way i work. It does get beat down by sunlight daily and I was considering just getting a cover but I like the idea of the ceramic coating, but not sure how many layers my truck would need to protect it without being overkill. How many layers are you guys getting on your trucks? It is a bit of a pricey process but I don't want to cheap out on it if I am going to go through with is lol

I spoke to a local vendor in town and he priced me on the available packages for the ceramic pro. He said these prices cover all paint corrections and prep. Though I don't see my truck needing that much correction work needed. Only 150miles are so on the truck and most of that was driving her home from the dealership lol

Bronze- $800 1layer on only paint 2yr warranty
    Silver- $999 2layers on paint & glass 5yr warranty
Gold- $1,499 4layers on all exterior surfaces except rims lifetime warranty
Diamond- $1,999 6layers on all exterior (including rims) and also front of cabin interior lifetime warranty
ALL inclusive- $2,599 covers everything except tires and underbody lifetime warranty

This on par with other vendors? 2 layers sufficent? I feel 6 may be overkill. Currently leaning towards gold and adding in a coating on my rims as well.

Any feedback would be helpful. :)

Thanks for the info Steve. I read up on the great links you provided. Seems the common concensus there was 2coats is plenty. Maybe i can work a deal between the silver and gold package. Two layers on all exterior.

    Thanks again
