If I wrapped my truck like that, the first thing that would happen is a big rock put a nik in it.

This is pretty neat. I’ve been debating wrapping my truck in clear to keep from destroying the paint with pinstripes while wheeling.

The finish is cool, but if he wanted Silver, he should have just bought it that way to begin with, ha. See, everyone knows Silver Sky is the BEST. Haha..

Can’t buy a matte finish truck from the factory unfortunately but that’d be awesome if there was an option.

That's what I meant by the finish. The matte is sweet and stands out for sure.

Wonder what the price tag on a wrap like that would be? $6k?

This has become huge in the exotics world. My buddy wraps vehicles for a living and he makes a some great coin doing matte color change wraps on high end exotics. If done right they look great but like any profession there are some hacks out there.

You’re not too far off. On that truck I’d guess between 5-6k

And what is the life expectancy of a vinyl wrap? I see a lot of vinyl decals saying they're 7 year vinyl.

Life expectancy depends on the panels. Front facing panels will probably need replacing in 3 years...depending on driving.

And that's the reason I would never do this.

I looked into having my 4runner done but because of the price and the life expectancy I decided to pass.

That's because if you can afford an $80k plus car, another $5k to make it unique (and protect the factory paint) is nothing but I think for us average folks, it doesn't make much sense.

    Just my $.02, YMMV?

I got a quote for my tundra and it was just over 3k. For matte black but I don’t think color matters

So after some time if you decide to go back to the factory color will it be the same or will it be stain or discolor?

I was thinking like $1500, $2500 tops. How do businesses afford to custom wrap huge ass vans??

Vehicle wraps like the one above tend to be a cheaper ironically. When doing color changes on personal vehicles a lot more detail goes into the install on them to make sure the factory color does not show thru, wrapping door jambs etc. Advertisements just cover the outside surface and if color show in the seams of doors etc it’s not a big deal. If that makes sense. A lot more time goes into the color change wraps.

Man that still sounds pricey if you are a small business owner, $1000-1500 a truck is A LOT of $$$$. Also speaking of this, I saw this on a white Ford van today, local company, about drove off the road I was laughing so hard.

I just ordered the tinted vinyl for the taillights that they show in the video and say “now available”. Think it’ll tie in great with the black headlights that came on my sport.
Hoping to make the trip back to NY sooner trather than later to have my buddy wrap my roof matte black.
