I think I found something that others can use and I can contribute to this forum.

So a couple of weeks ago my small pancake Hitachi air compressor stopped building air, but still ran perfect. So I did a little research and figured I could fix it for about $40.00. Parts arrived today and I replace the Valve plate, gasket and O-Ring. Works fine and simple to do.
While I had it apart I thought I would clean the gauge cover lens. I used a little window cleaner and really had the same scratched dirty looking lenses.

So my brain kicked in and I thought about headlight lenses and how they are renewed.

So here is my big contribution

I took some Meguiar's Ultra Polishing Wax D166 and rubbed by hand. I only polished them 10 or 12 circles on each. And to my surprise they really cam pretty clean compared to what they looked like before.
I hope the wax helps to keep dust loose and I can just blow them off with air. The lens on this compressor are parallel to the ground and dust and stuff really settle on them.

I didn't get a before picture but you can see the surrounding area and get an idea of how dirty they were.

I hope this helps some of the folks that have help me, Especially South Bound Steve.

Pic coming soon, need to post from my phone.

I figured you had done this before but I was hoping for a first for me to contribute. Maybe this will help someone.

Not bad, but if you wanted to add in the rest of your air compressor diy also that would be pretty cool too.

It really is something most people can do but might not realise it. Matter of fact my damn 60 gallon shop compressor and my 4 gallon Emglo are waiting for me to rebuild them as we speak.. Lol.

    Back on track....
My head units face plate had gotten pretty bad. I used a similar Maguire's polish or restorer. Plastic X head light restorer i think. Work quite well without needing much more than a couple minutes.

It was really pretty simple once I got the plastic cover/handle off. 4 bolts holding the head on. They were not very tight. Valve plate, gasket and o-ring were the parts I ordered. The valve plate will only fit one way. It had a big positioning lug in one corner. Reassembled and it worked perfect. very easy.
