I have a 2016 platnium. Drivers mirror gives double vision especially when headlights are behind you. Almost makes you feel drunk. Toyota told me
This is acceptable and normal . They sent out two service techs said yep normal have a good day . They will not do anything I ask to talk to a manager on the phone and they say our managers don't talk to customers. Yep so far loving the truck but hating customer care .

Go on tundra talk.net. Or google the issue it dates back to 2012 people have been complaining . With Toyota not doing anything . It's only in the platniums and only drivers side mirror

Yes extremely bad literally gives you a headache . Most people don't use their side mirrors so prob wouldn't pick up on it . But I def do and night time
Is the worst . Wish Toyota would fix their issue .i drove my buddy's Denali gmc and same mirror features as mine and his is fine . But Toyota claims it as acceptable . Until someone crashes because of it.

Hahahaha this is so true. Also weird on phone with Toyota when you ask to talk to their supervisor they will transfer you to a lady who sounds exactly the same . Hhhmmm. But manager will
Not talk to customers only supervisors.

What is different with a mirror that causes issues? I mean, a side mirror is a side mirror right? Or is there some fancy electronic feature?

    None, as of now.
A polite but firm email to the customer care department might get you what you want.

    https://mytoyotacertifiedvoice.com

This is the link i used to write a letter and it was sent straight to the dealership that the vehicle was purchased and i had both managers calling my phone. Now my truck was bought used just an FYI and I don't know if this would apply to a brand new vehicle.

Good luck with it though, i hope you get what you need out of it.

It is a fancy mirror has heated, blinker, lane departure, the works pretty much which might be the reason for it.

I have given the dealership many chances to correct the problem and have them contact Toyota directly. This is when they all come up with this or normal . The worst part is I work with glass and mirrors everyday for work so I know double vision in a mirror is not normal. Can it happen yes and do customers like it no so it gets replaced . I'm waiting for our supplier to make a replacement part for my side mirror and I'll buy that at this point. Just can't believe being treated like chopped liver after buying such an expensive truck.

The worst part is I'm left at what to do . Dealer said not their problem . Toyota send out two half shafts to look at it. Claimed it was normal . Toyota won't give me managers number or let me talk to one. I contacted better business bureau on Toyota and the dealership . Still nothing .

    Metric shit ton of parts
It's caused by the auto dimming in driver mirror. I see it once in while on the inner part of the mirror when the wife adjusts it. After I adjust my mirrors back out I don't see it anymore.

Im going to mess with it this weekend see if I can make it less dramatic . My mechanic went to put a sticker on truck yesterday he got in and looked and was blown away how bad it is . Yeah something needs to happen for sure . I asked the dealer why they can't order 4-5 of them well try them all this way gives me a piece of mind they said they won't do this because they cost to much. I'm like cost to much did you see what I paid . Let's say I told them they can take the truck back and give me my money back and I will go elsewhere .

Makes me glad I just have standard sport mirrors. Wouldn't mind the turn signal in it but that's about it.

Yes, it has to do with the autodimming. About the only thing you could do is disconnect the wire for the autodimming.
