It appears I have encountered another electrical gremlin:(
Has anyone had their fuel gauge stick? I've had this happen twice so far. I stop by and pump a mere 29 Gallons of fuel at a local Exxon in North Dallas. I hop in, go about my way and glance at my cluster. The cluster is showing slightly over half a tank when i topped it off. Miles to empty started at 400+ miles but is quickly dropping. I make it home, (no smell of fuel leaking sensed), and the MTE ends up at 340 miles. Google Maps states its 35 miles from the fuel station to my place. I get that the MTE is rarely accurate but will the fuel needle issue be something the stealership can diagnose? These days, they barely want to touch if there's no Check Engine light on.

I think if you take it in with a full tank of gas an the needle is barely above mid-point, I think they need to address CEL or no CEL.

My 2003 tundra would get stuck but it was because dust got inside the dash and would make the needle stick. All you had to do was tap the dash and it would move. No issues on my 2015.
On a 2017, definitely take it in and have them fix it.

Sounds like a stuck float sensor or whatever it’s called.

Take it to the dealer and have them ohm out the sending unit in the tank. Bet it's faulty, but it will be warranty work.

Take it to dealer like others said. With a full tank they will take bed off or loosen bolts and raise drivers side to access sender if that is what it is.

Reviving this thread lol just caught my needle stuck under 1/4 tank, you said you tapped the dash? Where? Toyota mentioned a “fuel sender” by the quarter panel. Going to get strong enough magnet and see if that moves it. Got an 01 btw..

After filling up I would give it a couple of whacks there and the needle would move back up.

You can see dirt inside so I just assumed that was the cause.
My brother is driving it now and still works.
