Hello all... I am taking a poll for what company has the best aftermarket double din radio. Please tell me what you are using and why you think it is best. Looking for any recommendations as well. I have been flipping back and forth between Kenwood and Pioneer. Leaning more towards Kenwood 9903s but not sure. Also considering Pioneer 4200nex . Not to sure about the Alpine units out currently. Would prefer to keep CD/DVD radios in play as opposed to the ones that do not play them. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I haven't used a CD/DVD in a headunit in years mostly due to the wide use of SD/Micro SD cards. I currently have an all Android headunit (not Android auto) and couldn't be happier especially with all the software mods for my type of unit.

I'm with @GNTundra. Kenwood has the best user interface, and accurate navigation. If I had 1 nit, it would be that viewing it from the side is a little washed out. I wish the factory bezel was tilted slightly towards the driver as it is in some vehicles.

Stay far far away from Pioneer. They have a clunky (read slow) interface, and their navigation is not that accurate.

Thanks for the heads up. I have always liked Kenwood. It has just been so long since I've purchased the radio.

The annoying thing with Kenwood units is that you have to acknowledge the danger of using the unit while driving every time you start the vehicle.

Pioneer 4200nex owner here and I'm very happy with it, but any of the major brands will be good. The tundra is one of the last full size trucks where it's fairly easy to swap the HU out.

Yea but that stupid little message when using the rear camera is getting old. Is there a way to remove that?

pioneer avhi5800bhs..love the sound quality..the gps app sucks..is igo..the same one that comes in android radios..waze works well..which I like better than google map. I have heard from siblings kenwood have better features.. in my opinion kenwood cuts the highs a bit to much for my taste.

Pioneer now offers the 4400/6400/8400NEX with wireless android auto, so that's the new HU king for me

Slight thread detour. Just scored slightly used pioneer AVIC-8100NEX for free, has Nav and camera.
    Anyone familiar? Think its decent.

Update, got the Pioneer 8100 NEX installed. Turned out really good. Sounds much better even with stock speakers. (non JBL)
Getting Bluetooth and back up camera is really nice. Has NAV but not sure how much we will use. Kind of miss volume knob but o well...

I put an Eonon unit in my '01 BMW not long ago. I'm not a fan of their UI, their seek/scan feature does a poor job of actually finding stations for some reason, and the navigation needs WiFi for some reason (although I haven't played around w/it much TBH), but other than those issues it's a good unit. You have to order direct from China though so if there's an issue and you have to ship it back and vice versa, you're out a radio for two months while it goes back and forth.

If you set it to use Google map then it needs internet if you go into the radio settings you can switch the default navigation app.

Thanks, I'll monkey around with it tonight and see what it's got. At the very least I may be able to find something on Google Play if there's nothing installed.
