Should I bring it in to the dealer so they can look at it?

The problem is that your truck is too clean!

Normal brake calipers are just made from cast iron, and have an anti-corrosion coating when they are new. But that coating doesn't last. In most cases you never notice it because the wheel hides it and they are covered in brake dust.

If you want them to stay rust free longer, you pretty much have to coat them with fancy caliper paint or at least high heat paint. And with those wheels I think it would be worth the effort.

That little bit of rust is purely cosmetic; it won't effect performance. Well, aside from the "looking dead sexy" performance aspect.. :)

Agreed. It won't hurt anything but your pride. You can hit them with a wire brush and clean them up a bit then spray them with some caliper paint and make them look like new!

I don't blame you. Living somewhere where
they treat the roads with chemicals that eat our vehicles that is nothing! Haha. We just have to accept it.

Yes, cleaning and painting should help it but im from socal too and my calipers still look brand new after almost 30k miles.. doesn't hurt to try to bring it in and complain about abnormal rust for the area, just to get it documented.

Damn that's nothing, where I live in Florida it's so salty and humid that brand new trucks on the lot probably look like that.

I'm thinking about doing the bright red caliper paint this spring. Should help protect the caliper but........., then I'll have to take the wheels off every time I wash the truck to keep those dam red calipers sparkling clean.:annoyed:

Did mine a couple months ago. If you buy the paint, get the Pint can that you have to brush on. I did all four calipers with three coats each and still have 75% of the can. Not nearly the mess of a rattle can.
