The wobble sockets are great if your using an impact. I use my mid-length astro pneumatic waaaay more than standard (short) wobble sockets. Probably 10x as much or more.

I've had that newer 550lb stubby for a while now but it hardly gets used. I use my modded 1/4 hex driver converter to 3/8 way more as it fits in tighter spaces better.

    PXL_20221122_081640880.jpg

I'm waiting for their new smaller stubby 3/8 to come out though. It's even smaller than my converted one.

I’ve got the semi-deep Grey Pneumatics wobbles in 3/8”. Figured it was good for recessed bolts that aren’t too deep.

I may do a conversion myself of the 1/2” right angle impact to a 3/8” in the future for tighter space access like yourself.

Been a little busy the past few days and I've been wanting to jump on here with my latest head scratcher. As I've posted before, I recently swapped out my 3rd member and running new gears. Finally got the first 100 miles in so now I'm not driving like granny any longer. Truck feels so much better, previously it felt like I was dragging an anchor, now it is way more responsive throughout the rpm range. What I can't figure out is the speedometer is still off by almost the same as with stock gears

Yeah the newer first gens apparently use a different way to obtain the speed than the older ones. I also have regeared and am still off.

    Yep, that's about right.

On your 2005, the speed is calculated based on what the rear ABS/WSS sensors are reading. They're seeing the same number of rotations of the axle itself, but the tire bolted to that axle technically takes longer than it would for the stock tire size to make a complete rotation because the circumference of your current tire is larger than stock.

Your tire circumference is 4.2% larger, so the new tire rotates almost 5% less with the larger tire, which is what's being recorded. So at 75 RPM, add 4.5% ... and you have ~78.5mph. You're also recording 5% less miles than reality for the same reasons, so your odometer is off too. You can YellowBox your truck to fix the issue.

From what I've read, yellow box is not compatible with 05-06. I've lived with the speedo for quite a few years now but I was expecting to correct it or get closer with the re-gear. I did not know the sensor is at the tires in these 2 years.

Speedometer/ odometer on 04-06 depends on wheel speed sensors on the rear axle. The transmission sensor is mainly for the ECU/ governor.

Your speedo will be off if you go to bigger tires, then off again if you ever regear. The wheel speed sensors track the final drive ratio, which changes with both bigger tires and different gears.

It's fully compatible, there's a thread on it here.

It's just not plug-and-play. You'll need to cut at least one OEM wire, either at the ABS squid or behind the cluster, to make it happen.

It's only two pin, usually data ports (thinking serial data like RS232, or USB or other) require at least 3, or 4 pins. Two pins are your data receive/transmit (RX/TX), and the other two are gound and some form of power source.

With it only being two pins, I'd expect that to actually be putting out power. DMM would tell you really quick, I'd set to DCV, and measure across the pins.

That screw-on style 2-pin is more typical for critical power, i.e. to lock onto the plug so it can't be pulled out, or on mic/audio cables but those typically use 4-pin IIRC.

the screw-on ports on my batteries are 3-pin. For the 120v charging. If i only charge the newer battery could that 3-pin tell me things? Gonna be hard to read the display on the inverter once its wedged in.
The batteries also have usb-a ports i might be able to use for my vent fan, would it matter which battery would handle a constant drain like a .35a vent fan?

How are you wiring the batteries together? What's the voltage on the batts?

Also, what's the model# of that orange case, is there anything in the manual indicating what that port is?
