I am mulling selling my 2017 Platinum and wanted to get the groups thoughts on what I should sell it for.

    The build is as follows:

    4K miles
    20 Black Rhino Warlord Wheels
    LT295/55r20 Ridge Grapplers
    TRD Sway Bar
    TRD CAI
    LED Interior/Exterior Bulb Upgrades
    GoRhino RB10 Running Boards
    Window Tint
    BakFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover
    Line-X
    Tundra Bed Mat
    Undercover Swingcase
Husky X-Act Contour Mats (front) Full Coverage in Rear
    Original Platinum Wheels

    Thoughts?

You don’t mind me asking what did you pay for the truck before your aftermarket upgrade?

If you’re lucky if you’re selling it out right you might be able to get rid of it 46k with the upgrades. On the realistic side probably 42k.. it’s a beautiful truck the only problem I think you’re going to run into is a lot of the dealerships are trying to push out all the leftover 2017’s ..

That is what I figured. I would be happy with $45k.

And if you go to trade it back in I guarantee you.. you will probably lose 7000 just on trade that’s not including your accessories .. so if you paid 46 for the truck on a trade-in they might only give you 39. Plus you’re gonna lose your aftermarket parts un less you’re able to put back on your stock parts. Sometimes we always forget the dealerships by whole sale and sell to us retail.

with the $$ loss from the sale just get a commuter car or a lease instead. It's a very nice truck.

A little of this and a little of that.
I understand your predicament, however, it would be a cold day in hell before I sell my truck. YOu should put your platinum wheels back on it since they won’t give you squat for the rhinos and I’ll buy your wheels and tire set up from you.

If you can try and buy $3500 cash some type of Honda. Sometimes it is easier said than done. The only other thing I can suggest to you is look for car that has a rebate that will help you with your negative equity.

    Look at a 2013+ Lexus 300 Es hybrid. Size of a Camry/accord and mpgs of a corolla/civic.
$20k-$26k depending on mileage/year. Nav, heated/ac seats, sunroof.

I will likely be doing this in about 8 months to a year.

Nice. With the price difference you should make up for the (effective) mileage difference in only about 8 years.

I don't care how well Tundra keep its value but you will stilll loose and won't get 45k with the goodies. Unless, you find one of the member here or another Tundra forum who appreciates the upgrades and cuts a deal with you.

Well, here is what I think.

You have a really nice truck, and I mean panty dropping nice. Only way to make it any better is if it were white:D .

I'm a truck guy, always have been, always will be. That being said, since I have purchased the right commuter car, I have enjoyed actually not driving my truck. Today in fact, I seen the exact same truck I own twice and said "damn that truck is a bad motha....". However, I still really enjoy not wearing out my truck on daily driver duties, and not having a shitbox to drive makes it so much easier. I have gone the shitbox route in the past, and it ended up sitting most of the time. I hope you keep your truck. The next time you are in the market, it will most likely be way more expensive.

For what you will eat in the trade in, it would be more reasonably financially like some have said to buy some used commuter car. If you are willing to drop $100k on a Tesla, go buy a Prius. I can't stand them but I know people who run the hell out of them too. One of my former workers used one and on the first anniversary of his purchase was at 126k miles. I would just drop 10k on few year old Civil or Corolla and get a service contract with it and use that for work and write off your mileage. I wouldn't get rid of a truck you love that you have setup just the way you want it. Just my two cents worth.
