Hello! 3rd owner of 2001 Tundra 4x4 LMTD TRd off-road w/tow pkg
145,000 miles

owned- 3 years- 60,000 miles driven

Been a long time user of the forum ever since I got my Tundra, finally made an account! I have many to thank for my well running truck and never got to say thank you so.. Thank you! So much great information and advice, every time I thought i was shit outta luck, turns out 10 other people had the same exact problem and I felt way more comfortable tackling the repairs, and eventually just more confident in working on my truck in general. I love my Toyota! Haha, exited to be a part of the community.

Nice looking truck. Who was the dip stick that drilled through the fenders to put on fender flares? If it was you I apologize in advance for being offensive.

 

Yeaahhh about that.. I was young and had just bought the truck, it was completely stock, came with color matched fenders and mud flaps, yellow headlights.. for some reason I decided to tear all that off. Thought it would look cooler lol. The holes for the fenders where already there but yes in hindsight I regret tossing them in the trash turns out there very hard to come by haha, I ended up finding some at the yard and will be reinstalling them soon! Now that the truck is lifted and has 285/75 tires i think it will look great.

 

Gotta' love that color on a 1st gen!! (I may be biased)








I drove the crap outta' my '00 for 6 or 7 years, towing, running around in the desert, bought it with 155K and then sold at 205K for more than I paid when I bought the 20 year newer version of the same model and trim.

I tried to think of a good reason to justify keeping both... couldn't do it, mostly 'cuz I couldn't afford it.

They were quite reasonably priced too... the clear didn't hold up all that well, but they still looked okay if you didn't look too close.
