    Good Morning Everyone-

I have had my Ridge Grapplers for a month and a half or so now and since I have had them, my mileage has taken a dive. When I got my truck in May I was sitting between 15mpg and 16mpg. After I added my Grapplers, I am sitting at just above 11mpg. Is this typical for adding LT tires or could it be something else? The only other mods since my Grapplers are my TRD Air Intake and TRD Rear Sway Bar.

    Thoughts?

Computer "settling" the MPG the more you drive it too. Not all associated with the tires.

What was the size of the tire you were running before the grapplers?
Is the only change the tread design or did you go taller and wider also?

My truck was totally stock running 275/55r20 Duelers before the Grapplers which are 295/55r20.

    You have several things happening.
You no longer have an accurate reading of your speed and mileage because your larger diameter tires will cover a little more distance each time they turn. This can be recalibrated.
Next, you will have an actual reduction in true MPG from decreasing mechanical advantage (less hp at the wheel) reduced traction (less rubber in contact with the asphalt) and increased wind resistance because the truck now sets higher and the engineered air flow geometry has changed.

I went from 15 mpg when stock, I put 37's in my truck 3 weeks ago and I'm getting about 12mpg now... lost about 3mpg now, I'm getting the 4.88 gears soon.. I've been told that will help with gas and pay for itself within the year..

If you're driving 15,000 miles in a year at 3$/gal gas you will save $750.
What price were you quoted for the regearing?

Pretty simple math; take the 15000 yearly miles, divide by 15 (miles per gallon) and you know you're using 1000 gallons per year. At $3/gallon gas it's $3000.00. Do the same thing divided by 12 (miles per gallon) and it's $3,750.
If i keep the numbers even like these it's easy to do in your head.

That will move your power band closer to what it was before the swap, but your odometer will still be off. You need to install a speedometer calibrator in order to be able to trust what your computer is telling you.

True, but I did the speedo test app and it's like 7mph off. So I kinda have that in my head

That's what I did too. I went from 275/55/20 to 295/55/20 ridge grapplers. I checked the speedometer with my gps before and after the tire swap and, with the 295's, the speedometer is now accurate. I also lost about 1.5 mpg. I went from about 16.5 mpg to 15.0 mpg.

I put on 275/60 20s on Furl Assault 20x10s, and I feel like mine has plummeted. I would estimate my speedometer is probably off only by 3 mph or so, but not sure how impactful this has actually been on fuel economy

I did 295/60/20 RG's and im about 12.5-13mpg when i used to be able to get about 14-14.5mpg on the same drive.i dont think much of it because the computers calculation is off. now for instance i know my commute is 5.9 miles but now after the tires it reports i only drove 5.6 so the truck is supplying the same amount of fuel to the engine per trip but it thinks its traveling a shorter distance therefore the illusion of worse than expected MPG
