    Greetings from Idaho!

I have a deposit down on a truck that should arrive this month. Really wanted a TRD Limited with a 6.5 bed in Lunar Rock, but wish it had the 110v power and heated steering wheel. Already learning a ton from the community here!

    Thanks for the greetings, all!

For reference in case I can help others, I originally had a 91' Toyota 4x4 with the 22RE, on my second 05' 100 series LC for the wife and kids (first one was totalled or I'd still have it), 04' WRX (sold in 2017 with 210k miles after it developed a burnt valve), and currently have a 2017 Silverado 1500 Z71 LTZ with the 5.3 (plan to trade in tomorrow for the Tundra).

The Chevy was my first domestic and I just don't trust it for long term reliability. I've had terrible downshifts intermittently from 2nd to 1st with the 8 speed when coming to stops. So hard in fact that I've thought I was hit from behind by another vehicle. The dealer told me its normal. Their solution was to put it in tow/haul mode and drive it hard to make it shift smooth. This tranny reliably needs to be replaced between 140-150k (confirmed via other owners and 3 mechanics). I find that unacceptable. Other than some easy recalls, a failed trailer brake controller, and now a slow leak in the radiator (not a hose, the joint between the core and tanks) its been reliable and comfortable. I tend to keep my vehicles long term and decided to get back to a Toyota before I need to start dumping thousands into a new tranny, valve lifters, and other maintenance for this truck.

I feel prepared and educated on what to look out for when I go to inspect the Tundra thanks to the community here. Cheers!

Picked up my truck last Wednesday from Edmark Toyota in Nampa Idaho. Great experience with Joey. Used the pre-delivery checklist in the 3rd gen forums and was pleasantly surprised to find that QC was excellent on this truck compared to noted issues/complaints on some of the 22's.
