The SR thread on here has got me considering one.
    Low $40's for a 4x4.
My Titan was $42k in 2007, but actually the SR is nicer in some ways, like LED headlights, Android Auto 8" screen, self driving, pfft.... it's actually almost perfect, as a TRUCK.

Pics of Ford trucks in one of the storage areas waiting to be released onto the market. Makes me wonder how many will develop post pandemic storage disease. Symptoms include premature rust, electric issues, shortened battery life, ...

I myself would not be happy if I was told my Ford truck wait time was based on the truck still being built, when it was actually built, and sitting in one of these storage locations waiting for say 6 chips that cost pennies to make in China, to arrive. Just saying.

After many frustrations with getting a Tundra I just found the exact truck I want (crewmax 6.5 bed, white, tow mirrors, limited) only in an F150..... It has 30k miles and I can pick it up tomorrow, also 10K cheaper than the Tundra.

Getting close to pulling the trigger on this, and sitting out of this Tundra nonsense for 2 or 3 years

thats what I was going to do with that powerboost I tested, bet that since I could get one then if it wasnt good get a tundra is a few years.

then the test drive didnt go so well, so I decided I'll likely try again with the 2023 tundra.

Grab it. I got caught late last year between the two generations. My F150 V8 (yes remember those?) has been flawless and over 18k miles now. Many of those miles achieved on 1k miles days.....

Low blow. Every f150 I’ve owned was solid. My in laws still drive my 98 f150. 330k miles and counting.

It's funny you say that. I live at 6500' of elevation, so turbos have a significant advantage here. I was at the Ford dealer the other day for a recall and one of the sales people trotted out while I was looking at the new trucks and excitedly pointed to one, and said "That's one of them rare V8 trucks!"

Honestly, if I bought a new F150 now, I would seriously consider a 5.0 with the heavy duty payload package and the Ford Performance Whipple supercharger. At my elevation it would still be making 560 hp.

Not a Ford/Toyota thing, but I towed for the first time with my truck, bought a Grady White this week. I have towed a bunch with various NA engines, but was blown away (no pun intended) but the performance of the supercharged engine. I'm sure the Tundra is similar.

You can’t go wrong with the reliability And the resale value of the Toyotas. In my opinion, they hold true to their value and if serviced, they will last a lifetime

Any day on the water is a good day but the weather doesnt look like it cooperated for you. Anyway, I can imagine its a vast improvement. Ill be towing our Edgewater CC this weekend for the first time and I'll report back on the differences from the 5.7 Tundra

It was a very brief shower, turned beautiful quickly. Edgewater is a great boat. Yeah would love to hear your comparison report.

Sounds good. GW is a good boat too, just watch those wood transoms. EW has bad tanks, they all got flaws. Its like this thread could go to TheHullTruth

I’m not sure I agree, completely. These trucks break, and things wear out. My 07 blew a water pump at 42k and it was serviced properly. The serpentine belt was replace just prior…and damaged the pump, imo.

yes, if serviced helps, but that’s no guarantee of a long lifespan and I hope my measure of a lifetime is longer than yours. Lol

Towed our little Edgewater for first time with new truck. Did fine, less engine rpm’s needed than with the 5.7. Damn brake sensor locked up twice while backing up, what a pain in the a**

20.5 officially. Its a good boat, rides like a bigger boat with the deeper V. I've had it in 5-6 footers in the Chesapeake, wasn't fun but I wasn't worried either

Well, I couldn't do it. Was supposed to go down and pick up the F150 this morning, but spent the weekend on the F150 forums reading about snapping axle bolts, and shuddering transmissions, and brand new trucks spending a month or more at the dealership with 14 recalls.

Then I come over here and one person is complaining about wind noise.

Sorry Ford, I tried to switch teams but I just couldn't do it. I like your truck better in every way except resale and reliability. The tech is light years ahead of Toyota, it looks better, the interior is more comfortable, and you can step on the bumper with the tailgate down to get into the bed. But at the end of day they just aren't put together as well, and that's what counts.

When you have 10X the product on the market, if reliability is the same, you will have 10X the problems. And people with problem, no matter the brand, tend to want to complain about it (rightly so). Just saying, weigh those bad reviews against the 950,000 satisfied F-150 new owners annually.

Pretty funny post from Mr. “Don’t Forget The Balls”…o_O

I agree with you that people with problems are generally louder about it online. Ford may have almost 10x the product, but they also have about 30x the problems. The issues occur at a higher rate when you control for the number of trucks produced. There are a few guys on here who are satisfied with their Fords. Great. Happy for y’all. But the idea that Ford only has more issues because they make more trucks is demonstrably false.

Speaking of issues, seems that it has been pretty quiet on the ‘22 Tundra front lately.

You can't keep presenting information for the 2021 and older Tundras and expect to be taken seriously. As I seem to remind you weekly, please reference thread title.

‘22 models of each truck are not disconnected from previous years or the companies’ respective decades-long track records, as you like to pretend.

It is disconnected when it's a brand new from the ground up truck. The only thing the 22 shares with the 21 is the badge.

It’s also made by the same automaker with the same unique manufacturing process and commitment to kaizen. Its engine has been used in Lexus platforms, the MTS/crawl tech has been used for years in Tacomas. If you break down every system in the new Tundra—down to door lock actuators—it is really not as “new” as you think. Most of it is a direct lift from previously used parts and systems or very slight tweaks to fit the new platform. Frame and body panels and maybe the infotainment software are brand new, but most of it has been used by Toyota for years in other platforms with stellar dependability results.

Same could be said about the Tacoma though. When I was looking to by a Tacoma in late 2015 I waited to test drive the new 2016. After the test drive I couldn't write the check for the 2015 fast enough. Turns out I don't like a minivan motor in my pick up truck. Who'd a thunk it?

I just got back from a 850 mile round trip in my '22. There were a few minor, and I really do mean minor, things I noted which I wasn't thrilled with. Overall though, after spending two 7 hour stretches behind the wheel I gotta say I'm seriously impressed. The best road trip truck I've owned to date was my 2011 Sierra in which I could have easily done a 10 hour trip without fatige. I owned a 2013 F150 and after 2 or 3 hours on the road I needed a break. My '05 Tundra was good for about 6 or 7 hours, 8 if I pushed it. I could have done a 12 hour stretch or longer if needed in this '22.

I'll do a more in depth write up in my build thread this evening.

I've held on to mine since I can't find a place to trade it in that it would make any sense. The Tundra is growing on me, once you get past the quirks and understand the Toyota system it is a solid truck. My biggest complaint now on long trips is the wind noise. It is just quite a bit louder than most full size trucks I've been in, not talking tire noise, just wind noise right by the B pillars. Anyone else notice that compared to another vehicle?

Just purchased my first Tundra and Toyota in the same breath last week and here I am. Didn't even test drive the Tundra, I knew I wanted one the day they released the official photos... I've driven plenty of F-150s-250s for work and was never impressed. Contemplated buying a Ram Rebel for about 1.5 years... thank christ that didn't happen. I wouldn't touch GM/Chevy due to simply hating the brand and quality from way back. Even with the first wave of "issues" in the Tundra, Toyota has remedied most of the gremlins from the initial production. My build was Aug of this year and I'm anticipating the known issues to be resolved.

Ford will never hold value as well as a Toyota. MSRP for the 23 Tundras is likely to be anywhere from 2k-6k higher than current pricing across the board. 22's will hold value for years to come.
