Hello! Short time lurker - first time poster. My wife and I determined that it was time to replace my 2011 Lexus LS460 with something with more utility. So, here she is, my 2016 Tundra TRD Off Road Limited Crewmax. I'm still figuring out what aftermarket mods are on it.

    So far, I have found:
    fender flares
Metal collars on the front shock mounts to level it, front ride height is 24.5" front, rear is 24.25
remote start kit that I cannot identify
The radio antenna has been removed, but the radio still works?
Tires are 33x12.50x18 Toyo Open Country that are near the wear bars and noisy as hell

    Plans
    drivers side grab bar ordered
GoRhino RB20s in the garage (thanks Tundras.com)
install 35x12.50x17 wheels/tires (really want to go with dirty sevens, lol)
    de-chrome
    Bilstein 6112/5160

It's been a while since I've been excited about modding my vehicle. I got burnt out doing that on my last Miata.

I'm currently in Tampa, FL and moving back home to Abita Springs, LA this summer. :)

Welcome, sharp looking truck. Love the Lexus LS cars, but if you wanted utility you found a few tons of it.

I would imagine Abita Springs is the home of the delicious Abita beer company? If I’m having seafood for dinner, nothing goes better than an Abita in my opinion. Cheers!

Welcome in to the affliction and the addiction TRDBurglar.

Yep. Abita Springs is the home of the wonderful Abita beer. ONLY brewery tour I've ever been on where the tasting "room" was a wall of taps and completely unhosted. Get a cup and go to town: 1 cup or 100 cups. Loozheanna: the best state in the Union.

That’s a textbook definition awesome there.

I was born in Slidell and lived there for a few years during childhood. I don’t remember much other than New Orleans smelled like garbage and that you could get drive thru daiquiris. And nutria, I had a healthy childhood fear of enormous swamp rats.

I grew up in Slidell. I went to Boyet Junior High and graduated from Salmen High. I've been living in the Tampa Bay area for the last 21 years. I'm ready to go home. My new house will be less than 2 miles from the Abita Brewery. :D

Welcome to the Tundy crew. Nice looking truck. Turbo dog, Purple Haze, crawfish boil beer, the Amber, all good in my book. Although a 6’er of Amber gives me a headache the next day like Budweiser. Food will be phenomenally better back in LA.

Exact same sh*t happened to me!! Took a tundra for a test drive and never looked back. I'm sure the taco could tow my small camper fine but I figured may as well go big or go home. Some of the mountain passes are brutal towing with a v6. Welcome and congrats from Cana-duh

I had been using my 2011 LS460 for trips towing our kayaks and putting dirty stuff in the trunk with a tarp. I accepted that compromise because I was also driving the car to work daily. It is an amazing car for the daily grind, btw. Anyway, thanks to covid, I don't drive to work anymore and it wasn't really a compromise anymore.

Also thanks to covid, the wife and I decided to move back home (we both work remote, so WTH) and we would need a truck for landscaping projects and Home Depot runs. I originally wanted a Ford Maverick Hybrid. I waited too long, they sold out quick. I decided to move on to Toyota, my preferred brand. I wanted to stay small, so I started shopping Tacomas.

I was looking for a used truck and found 2 Taco 4x4's at a Ford dealership in Clearwater. I was also drooling over a Cement Taco in Kissimmee. I decided to test drive the ones in Clearwater before I drove 2 hours for a truck a I wouldn't want. That turned out to be the right choice. We hated the Taco. The wife said it was too small and I said it was too slow. It drives and sounds like a tractor. I have a special kind of disdain for the Toyota 3.5l v6.

The wife talked me into going to the nearby Lexus dealership. We love Lexus. At the time we both had LS460s. Hers is a 2015 F-Sport Custom Line. Anyway, we get there and my wife tries to get me to like a GX470. I said it was the wrong color (black, haha) and we need a cargo bed. The salesman took us back to a lot full of recent trades and there she was. It was only about $2k more than the Tacos we looked at. I drove it and we decided to buy it.
