My 2000 tundra died while driving when I opened the hood I noticed the lower radiator hose had come off.
What should I do after I put water in it and re connect battery terminals. I took battery terminals off just because....will my truck restart
I didn't notice any smoke coming from under hood ir nothing. Gauge showed normal temp prior to all this.
Last night we had really cold weather that us Texans are not used too...

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! First thing I would do is try to determine how/why the hose got disconnected. If you have reconnected the hose and refilled with water (and antifreeze), it should be fine to run, at least long enough to get it somewhere that can get the proper level of antifreeze in it. I'm not sure what the thermostat would read if the sensor was not immersed in water. Other's will likely chime in with more mechanically educated opinions.

Your thermostat stuck. If you didn't cook the engine, you should be able to reattach the hose and refill. Get a new thermostat though, same temperature spec. If the engine shut off from overheating, get it pressure checked.
