Hello. My first post, my first real truck-my very first purchased vehicle was a Toyota 4x4 "baby truck" brand new in 1985-loved it, and this one will likely be my last, so I bought a 2017 4x4 5.7 regular cab, and I love it.

My question: I would like side steps (no bars or boards) that are rock-solid when installed. Any help here? Thanks.

If you want steps as opposed to boards because you don't like the look, consider AMP PowerSteps. Its a running board when you need it, and a gravel shield when you don't.

I've heard great things about RCI magnum steps.

N fab, go rhino, iron cross, the list goes on. Just do what I did and keep googling until you finally narrow a decision down then flip a coin LOL

The ICI Magnum RT look great BUT it looks like they don't make them for a regular cab.

Go Rhino RB10's are my favorite. Extremely solid and look good.

IMO, Amp boards have the cool factor if you are riding in the city. If you head off road the purpose of boards is not just the step up, but to protect from rocks flying up which the Amp boards do not do because of the purpose.

I live on a gravel road with a mile long gravel driveway. No lower rock dings as my tires don't protrude.

If you "head off road" I'd advise sliders from P&P or SDHQ. The real purpose being bolder protection and inadvertently sliding into something.

If I wanted "step bars" I'd go Nfab again and Line-X

So, nobody has installed the steps, not part of a bar or board, and installed them?

Did you ever find these? This is what I want too: single steps only w/o running boards/ nerf/ bars for back doors of DC. I've found 'em for Fords and Chevys but not for Tundras. Please let me know if you got a lead, @cwdotson.

If you want nerf bars, just buy what looks good ( no such thing as rock solid nerf bars). If you want rock solid, get sliders. P&P is horrible. Go any other route.
