Tightened my oil filter to tight

    Hello my name is Nicholas I am new I have a 2006 Toyota tundra which I recently did an oil change en tightened the oil filter too tight and and drove about a mile set my car for about 30 minutes till I decide to drive back home and find oil in my driveway Does anybody have any clue or tips to clean my engine and undercarriage an undercarriage of 7 qt of oil

    So I replaced the oil filter and turned it half a clockwise by hand hand and put 7 qt of oil back in my truck and now I face a shit load of oil to clean my engine was immaculate until this accident or this accident and I'm discouraged that in my harm the vehicle

    Are you sure you didn't end up with 2 filter o-rings smashed together? 1 from old filter and 1 from new.

    I forgot the O ring once and had oil all over my engine just from starting the truck. I just kept washing it off until it eventually was gone. It took a few months and several times spraying it down. Not environmentally safe but at this point you can’t collect every drop of that oil.

    I did something similar many years ago. I took my truck to a self car wash, sprayed two bottles of this all over the bottom of my engine, let it sit as the instructions communicated and rinsed it all off. Worked great at removing the oil.

    Good news is you won’t have rust issues in that area.

    Welcome from the Midwest! I've used engine de greasers like spray 9 to clean engine bays for years, let it sit for a bit then pressure wash but you want to try to stay away from electrical connects an your fuse box/air intake as best you can. A local detail shop should be able to do it for you really quick if you are worried about it.
