Hi guys and thanks for all of the welcomes. The badges come from this link (you have to email the guy to set it up) and he charges about ten bucks each: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/unofficial-toyota-high-mileage-badges.1006177/

Maintenance has been even less than routine. I've been doing almost all highway miles, so I have been doing synthetic oil changes every 10k. No "scheduled maintenance" visits with lots of checklists an no work. I've done the tranny twice and the plugs once. I'll go through everything again next week...plugs, all fluids etc. The brakes are a pain in the neck and the fronts like to warp. The best brake jobs I get are when I do new rotors, which is every time now. This time, I'll also do new front calipers. But as far as things breaking, NOTHING has. There have been no breakdown repairs. I did a rear wheel bearing back around 200k, but that's because a thick plastic tarp got up in the running gear and that's not the truck's fault. I also did the rear shocks at 200 This is my third Toyota truck (Tacoma, Crewmax, Crewmax) and I have not had to repair anything on any of them.

Last year, before moving to FL, I was commuting every month from NJ to FL. During that time and with 275k or so on the truck, I missed an oil change and given the high miles I was running, I ran it up to 16.5k miles. At that interval, not a drop of oil was missing from the crankcase. That's amazing to me. And I think at this point, I have spent more on gas than I did on the truck.

This truck has been through the eye wall of three hurricanes, been through countless blizzards and has done dozens of high speed, nonstop (except for fuel) 12-18hr runs from NJ-FL. I can't say enough about it and given the recent leak pics, I'm going to double down on this one, spend a bunch of money on maintenance and keep running it at least another year or two. I'd like to run it up to 400k.

The one other thing I can add is that whenever I want to sell it, my Toyota service advisor since new is waiting to buy it. That says a lot.

Congrats man! I’m just shy of 100k on my 18. Just this year alone I’ve smacked on 35k miles. I’ll definitely be buying those badges! Love em!

Surprising there has’t been any 5.7’s hitting it, I wonder what’s taking them out timing chains?

Not every 5.7 owner drives a million miles. Takes a while, although the Tundra redo in 07 is definitely looking to take over the legendary Tundra badge!

15 years in production x average American drives about 15,000 miles per year = 225,000 miles. While there are definitely second gens out there with 300k+ (OP) I'm guessing we just don't have a large sample size of trucks at that number yet.

Yep, the majority of current and past 2nd Gen owners don't post here. If they did.... @Bob would be quite happy......... but not so happy mailing out 1000's of T.com stickers everyday....
