Longtime reader, thought I'd join and participate. I've gotten a lot of great information here and have some questions as I start to make updates to my truck. My recent history (20 years?) was '99 Tacoma Xtra cab, then an '06 4Runner. I sold the 4Runner last fall and bought a 2018 1794 Tundra (Black).

    Here's my truck today:

I'm usually towing this to the mountains on the weekends.

It's a 2006 Fleetwood Evolution E2. I've gotten it into some pretty remote spots, though turning around on a narrow forest road with the Tundra has been ... challenging.

I've been slowly building a box of parts for a suspension upgrade and I have a question. I'm installing Bilstein 5100's all around. For the rear I have an icon expansion pack and toytec rear shackles. Anything I need to be concerned about with expansion pack (stated ~1.5" lift gain AND the toytec shackles? I could set the shackles at 1" and be closer to 2" (-.5" with the cap on). I *think* that's within safe height for the rear 5100? The front will be 5100 on the middle setting with a single Coachbuilder 1/2" on the passenger and 2 on the driver to account for the lean which should bring me close to 2" in the front. This should leave me with some rake.

I've got a carrier bearing drop kit but not installing a diff drop kit. Seems to be mixed opinions on that decision.

Last thing: does anyone know a shop in the Portland area that can install the springs on the 5100 fronts when I take them off. I called a shop close to me and they said $180 per spring? Seemed excessive or I didn't explain what I was asking for correctly. I rather have a shop install the springs on the 5100 vs. renting a spring compressor.

I just wanted a final sanity check before starting this plan. Thank you.

Welcome! I would check out Automotive Outfitters on 83rd and Foster for the installation. I put 5100s all around on my old Nissan Titan (including swapping the springs) and they charged me something like $300 for install, including alignment. Great service as well. That was about 6 years ago, so prices may have changed, but if you're just swapping springs I would imagine it'd be cheaper. Good luck!
