I just check with a buddy of mine that works for Toyota and he said they are NOT making them in 2018. I hate to say it but us that have the 2017 PRO our value just went up.

My Cement Crewmax Pro will be for sale this fall, I'll probably get close to new price for it with 5000 miles on it, so in effect, I get to use it for a year for free!

I could order one today if i want to. I was just going to wait to see the 18s. Looks like if I want a Pro that is no longer an option. I guess I will have to start emailing some dealers. Dealer had already told me for what I want the will order.

    This is not an accurate description of Pro components. Trolls continue to say this kind of comment for any of 3 reasons;
    1) they don't know how to read (specifications)
    2) they know the difference but have sour grapes cause they don't own one
    3) they believe everything they hear from their raptor driving buddy

The TRD Pro doesn't come with a sway bar, but it does come with more than just shocks, it comes with about $5K in TRD upgrades from an SR5, plus a factory warranty on all of the mods. It's not for everyone, but it's a damn fine piece of equipment for the price, and if you haven't driven one then you need to do so before you pass judgement, there's a reason that they bring top $, even used ones.

What about the color matched front bumper ends, leather interior, seat heaters, color matched pro grill, TRD shift knob, TRD rims, and TRD Exhaust??? :boink:

Add all these aftermarket plus the suspension and I believe you're well over 5gs extra from the TRD Off-road 4x4... I just purchased the my 17 and the only reason I didn't grab a pro was because I wanted Quicksand. My msrp was only about 3gs less than a pro. Granted I payed much less after negotiation.

yep, and happens to be the year and model that I wanted to buy. Sometime late December or January are my target dates. May have to move date up or settle for a SR5. Not totally opposed to the SR5 TRD if I can get a Pro grill. I know the nose is changing on the sport but not sure about other models. Based on what I priced out the Pro is only $3k higher than the SR5 OR when not considering any discounts off MSRP. I will spend $3k fairly easy in mods on the SR5 that the Pro includes. I was hoping to get closer to retirement. May just have to tough it out until 2019 models come out.

This is true. You will spend about the price from an SR5 to Pro to make a level caliber ride, assuming you do some of the work yourself.

    2k Wheels/Tires
    1.5k leather
    400 P.C. Bumper Ends
    500-600 TRD Pro Front End
    2k in shocks/coils
=~7k easy not figuring a value for resale increase

I paid 38k for my SR5. At best you can do $46k on a Pro. The Pro is a great deal if you don't want to do anything yourself. In hindsight I should've went the Pro route, seeing as you can get close to 2k for the pro wheels and tires and get what I wanted there.

I'm also sure your MSRP was close to the Pros if not higher... And I'm hoping you are 4x4 - Can't tell from the pic. If not, yours is not "way better" than a pro no matter how high it is lifted to the sky.

My limited was about 4500 less than pro which was only available at sticker. Dealer had a cement one. Beautiful color buy damned if I'm paying 47k for an sr5 with some neat parts.

More of a limited without the sunroof and a lift + Exhaust actually...

Also, are you 4x4? Cause you're kinda comparing apples to oranges if yours was that much less that a pro and is 4x2.

I plan on keeping it for more than 10 years. I have several reasons for waiting until early 2018. My commute, keep Tacoma through next deer season, fewer miles on Tundra when I retire, & make a few more payments before paying off Tacoma. Also, I do not need a full size until I buy a new boat.

I owned a 2012 CM Limited 4X4 before going to the CM Pro. All I have to say is I never have once said to myself; damn I miss my Limited. It comes down to preference, if you love your Limited 4X2 then I'm happy for you.

A few more differences than that. Two of the things that bugs me about my PRO is no AUTO headlights and only the driver window has AUTO down (not even AUTO up).

I agree^^^^..my Sisters Tacoma Sport has auto up/down on both driver n pass sides. Not even the top model of tacoma either. You'd think toyota and pretty much all vehicles would come with auto up/down on both sides these days. And it absolutely should have auto up if it has auto down.... because we all know "ya gotta get up...to get down" :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

As much as I like the pro, my next one will be a platinum or limited. If I decided to keep the TRD off road I have now then I will mod it.

Here at the plant in San Antonio we produce an almost 50/50 split of Tacomas vs. Tundras. There is also a plant in Baja, Mexico that only produces Tacomas.

I lived in socal for 25 years and the big reason there was gas Milage and stop and go traffic. Since moving to AZ, I get way better gas Milage in both my Tacoma and tundra just because the freeways actually move here.

This is true here... those are my current complaints about my TRDOR. My next tundra in about 10 years will be a platinum. No questions.

In some ways its because ford, chevy n dodge have loyal buyers that stay with that brand. So if they get a mid sized truck they go with a taco(mmmm tacos:homer:) cuz thers not much else out ther in that size. Wher as if yer gettin a full sized truck they stay with the same brand(ford..etc.etc.).

I think you are on to something here. A lot of people go with the taco when looking for a smaller truck. If the Tundra didn't exist that would be my first choice.
