    New owner here!

So I have seen a few post online and even on this forum, but have not found an answer or a guide on if it's possible or has been done.

I have a 2017 Tundra Limited. I've purchased a new front bumper. The new bumper will not have fog lights but will have a light bar that i've purchased with it.

My goal is to hopefully just have the existing fog light switch (a turn dial next to the headlight) to activate the light bar. I'm sure if I'm using the existing switch, that the same rules with the current fog lights will be in effect ex: Can't use lightbar with high beams on. Which is fine.

Is there a way I can make this happen. I've learned a bit about relays and they make sense, just want to know if there's a way I can run the existing fog light switch to the relay, and if so where can I find that switch wiring and how to wire it to the relay.

    Thank you for your time!

Awesome I will take that information and learn from it. Your gif explains my reaction perfectly. Thank you!

I'm excited about it! Just purchased the truck 2 weeks ago and I've already purchased a few mods and the list just gets longer. I'm very thankful for the help and hopefully one day I'll be able to pass on the knowledge down the line.

That's exactly how I did mine, I snagged the trigger wire for the relay straight from the 12 volt wire going to the fog light. Everything was on the engine firewall side. No need to wire anything inside the cab. Just simply turn on the fog lights.. Good luck, I'm sure it will turn out great.

Were you able to find a way to bypass the high beams from turning off the light bar? I'm a Nevada native as well. Clark County!

No, I never bypassed it. The light bar would turn on using the fog light switch in regular mode only.

The reason that fog lamps are mounted as low as practical is to minimize glare and a light bar works best in my own experience when it is mounted as high and as far back as possible (front edge of a truck cap has worked the best for me).

With different lights it is a good idea to have separate switches so you can decide which to turn on and which to leave off depending upon the situation.

Go to the lighting section and do a search. A lot Tacoma owners have modified the relay to accomplish this. Not sure if the Tundra fix is the same. I have seen posts on this here.

The bumper I'll be installing has a lightbar slot so just filling that in and I agreee with the own switch logic. I think I am going to end up wiring it to its own switch and just remove the fogs for now and when the time (money) is right I'll buy fogs and connect those to the existing fog switch.

    See fine print
Here you go. I did this with my light bar to my high beams. Only difference is you want it to be activated with your fog lamps. In theory, you can replace where 85/86 tap into and as long as it is a 12v source, it will activate your new light. Hope this makes sense. All you would need to get is a relay, wiring terminals, Wire, inline fuse. The Orange circles are wiring connections if that makes sense. Make sure your inline fuse is as close to the battery as possible. About 12" is about right.Fuse size will be dictated by your light bar. LMK if you have any other questions.

If you want to change your factory fog circuit so it doesn't turn off when you use your high beams, I used FogLightEddiev1 and it worked on my 2016. https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-fog-light-mod.371/
