    2019 tundra with 8500 miles.
Tornadoes ripped thru my neighborhood and I drove thru a roof rescuing people. Had a small leak so brought it up to tire shop. Jacked the truck up and found that the wheel bearing is going out. Will my warranty cover this? Seeing as I put a lift on it and different wheels and tires. Please help thanks

Toyota always find something else to blame. When I bought my 2019 the steering wheel was slightly toed to right. I told my service advisor as soon as I noticed it. I put a Coachbuilder pro kit on there after 2000 miles. But When I brought my truck in for its 5,000 mile service my normal advisor wasn’t there so they tried to blame it on the 1” lift and tires. I just about snapped. They ended up trying to fix it but toed it to the left instead of the right. I gave up!

This is of course after they bought back my 2018 with a PCS issues that I had since the first month of ownership. Even after a year and a half of these issues right before they bought it back, some advisers came over and asked why they were buying a lifted truck back. They insisted the lift caused the issues even though I didn’t have a lift for the first 15,000 miles on the truck. I think that’s their default way of doing anything.

Did you verify yourself that the wheel bearing is actually going bad? Hard to imagine...

They replaced mine on my 2007 with a lift and bigger wheels and tires. i didn't even know it was bad. I had the truck in for another issue and the tech that drove it said the bearing was bad and they changed it under warranty.

Hand the service writer and the tech both each a $20 it'll get fixed under warranty. It's amazing how they'll never notice mods in their reports. Thank you for your service.

Yea the tech called me out before he pulled the wheel and there was a bunch of slack left to right. I can feel it driving but I've drove with much worse of a wheel bearing. When I talked to toyota they said I have to bring it in during the week so an inspector or adjuster can look at it. The service guy knew who I was and said their max on lift is 3". I have 6". But I've never taken it offroad and I bought it brand new in December 18 and it only has 8500 miles. I put 20s back on it but went with 35s. I want to check the other side so if they say its cause of my mods then I can say if that's the case the other one would be bad too. Just sucks ass if I have to pay out of pocket when I'm paying extra for the 5 year warranty

ok good. Just wanted to make sure dealer wasn't pulling a quick one on you. The lift wouldn't necesarily kill both hubs at the same time. Although possible. 8500 miles just seems so low to kill a hub. Even with a lift! Hopefully Toyota covers it. If they fight, ask for some kind of paperwork that states modifications like yours kills the warranty coverage.

If you think that’s bad, try one from Ford, FCA, or GM. See how that works out

The guy who noticed it was Firestone tech. I was getting my tire patched. I was already out there getting a kick out of him trying to fit my truck on the rack. I kept saying it ain't happening buddy lol finally he gave up

So A Firestone tech pointed out play in the hub by grabbing the tire at 3 and 9 and found play? Didn’t bother to check at 6 and 12 like you should?

I would take that with a grain of salt for so many reasons.

Left to right movement could have just been the normal slight play in the steering rack. You’ll have play in all directions if the bearings are going out in the hub.

The tornado that hit us was on the ground for about 55 miles. It upgraded to max EF-3 right before coming thru my neighborhood. 800 yards wide and they said 165 mph wind speeds if not higher. Like a fucking rocket was inside my house. Woke up to sirens and when I looked out back I could see it rolling thru the woods. Grabbed everyone and dove in the closet. Once I could tell it was past the house we got dressed and hit the street. Shutting off gas that was leaking, water that was leaking, pulling all types of people and pets out of the rubble, catching pets, etc. It was like nothing I've ever dealt with.
