Hey guys, I see this question on here, Facebook, and hear it asked about every day in my own business. "What's the best products?" The truth is, there are so many companies out there producing new products every day, its too hard to say. I know I prefer Chemical Guys, Poor Boys World and Meguiars. Its all in your budget, and what your looking to achieve. I have attached a link to my main supplier for you all to see the kind of products we use day to day, and you can buy from there too.. Shipping is usually 2-5 days and they have great customer service. This is the site I buy most all my chemicals from, they have a wide range, from commercial grade, to the DIY'er. Their prices are reasonable, they run daily sales and specials. I'm not a salesman, just a fellow Tundra owner, offering my unbiased opinion on products and techniques. Since I cannot take the time to answer each individual thread, and each question in each thread, I started this one. If I don't know, I'll tell you so... There are no stupid questions.

Since you like Chemical Guys.....which of their products do you use and why? I've tried a few....V4 is okay but to me loads up on pads....Mr Pink is an okay soap....but really like their VRP for tires and Silk Shine for interiors (door panels only)....on dash, I prefer Meguiars Natural Shine.....

I don't "prefer" their products over the others I mentioned, but their bang for the buck cant be beat. I don't have to work as hard to get the results I'm after when using their products. As for what I use, in no particular order...

Cleaner/Wax- The micro abrasives in it are a good two step fine polish/wax
Jet Seal- Great sealant, easy on and easy off. It protects longer than others I've used.
V7 Hybrid spray- Awesome quick detailer, with a sealant that's built in. Great for an added layer of protection, spray on, wipe right off
V7 Soap- very foamy, slick and rinses clean without stripping any protecting finishes.
Citrus Wash- Strips waxes, cuts dirt faster, gives a clean slate to start claying after the wash. I use this as a clay lube as well
Mr Pink- Love the suds, phenomenal in the Foam Cannon. Very slick
Black Light- Really makes Dark paints, especially Black shine. Adds depth to the finish
White Light- does the same for light colored vehicles as the black light.
VRP- I like how it restores the faded black trims, the oils soak into the plastic and keep it looking good longer. I only use it for exterior black trim.
Decon Iron remover- Great for decontaminating paint and wheels.
Carpet Stain Extractor- It dilutes 20:1, but using it at a higher strength will remove anything from seats and carpets

That's really all I use in terms of Chemical Guys. I use PoorBoysWorld compounds, and now I have recently switched to their waxes and sealants as well. They seem to lay out easier, clog my pads less, giving me more working time between cleaning and changing them out. They also just sent me a Quick Detailer with Carnauba. Granted, carnauba doesn't last as long as sealants, but the shine is unmatched. With a QD, you can reapply after each wash. PoorBoys compounds... SSR1, SSR2.5, MasterCut, and ProPolish are, by far my favorite paint reconditioning creams to date.
You mentioned Meguiars Natural Shine... That has to be the best interior finish ever made. I've used this for years, and buy it by the gallon now that I run my own shop. I also use Meguiars Super Degreaser, Glass Cleaner, Wheel Brite, All purpose Cleaner and Hyper Tire Shine. I use these because of their prices, and they're all concentrate... So you can adjust the strength to your liking and needs.
I have other misc cleaners, Griots speed shine (I use this while drying after a wash), etc...

    May I ask,

What do you recommend for cleaning windows?

It's hard to tell if there is any haze left until I drive at night and then it drives me crazy!

1badtundra...you're spot on with your assessment of Natural Shine......I'm just a hobbyist, so buying a gallon of anything (other than D101) is a tall order...but Natural Shine @ 4.99 for a 16oz bottle at Wallyworld is a price thats tough to beat over the counter.

Funny this about that... There are times when Walmart is actually cheaper than my suppliers. When they run those rollback deals, and its something like the natural shine... I'm sorry, but I'm that butthole that asks for a case of it.

Its this simple... Buy one of these tools. We use these every time, all the time. Spray the glass liberally with your favorite cleaner, I prefer Meguiars tint safe glass cleaner, but any quality glass and surface cleaner will work. use this wand to clean the glass, dont just wipe it down, work that cleaner around, get the edges, and corners too. Then take a cotton towel, and dry it thoroughly. Most of the time, streaks are caused by the glass not being completely clean before letting it dry. Most people spray and wipe, it needs to be clean, not just wiped down. Its really that simple.
Sometimes people buy that super fancy, anti fog, anti glare, window wax and bulletproofer lol... That stuff has alot of greasy agents in it that are very difficult to get streak free. If you must anti fog it, use the RainX brand. They've made it this long for a reason. On the outside, I have always recommended RainX brand repellent. But thats just my opinion. Some people dont like it. I like how it keeps the wipers from skipping and streaking across the glass.

This is what we use. Its $20 a gallon, and mixes 10:1, Essentially you would be buying 11 gallons of glass cleaner for $20... But thats a ton of glass cleaner lol

BTW, we have some of these wands from detailing sites, and we have a couple from a local Ollies, that had one of those "car wash buyouts"...$1 each, they are all the same.

I am in their wholesale program as well. It sure helps with costs when your a self funded business getting up. I haven't tried the Essence line yet. When this winter breaks, I may have to try it out. Do you like the CarPro line? Would you make them your "go to"?

As for wheel cleaner, I like Sonax and IronX. Tire shine has so many different options. We prefer to stay with water based products. While the silicone based tire dressings last longer, they damage the rubber over time.... We use water based Meguiars Hyper Dressing.

Stoners Wheel cleaner works great for the average dirty wheel....when they're really dirty, Griots Garage Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner. It breaks down iron deposits just like Iron-X, and truthfully, smells just as bad. Cleaning wheels depends on being thorough and methodical, as much as the product used. As far as tire shine, it really depends on what level of shine you want. Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel lasts a long time, but can be tricky to apply. My favorite is Chemical Guys VRP...it's water-based, and easy to control the shine. I've had no issues with 'sling' with it. In case you are wondering, it's on the tires in my avatar. Even though I've not tried it yet, Mud by AMMO NYC gets very good reviews as well.

One reason I really like Detailed Image, they ship fast. When I place an order on Monday,it will be at my door by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest... That's even with their standard shipping.

Wolfgang products get my vote. Their paint sealant is incredible.

    Do yourselves a favor:

    1. Wash
    2. Claybar
    3. polish
    4. apply Wolfgang synthetic paint sealant.

    insane profit... trust me

    Plastic or leather?
I use 303 for all the plastic. I havent had to really clean the leather, I just hit it with a dry microfiber to get the dust.

The market is huge for interior cleaners/protectants. We use Meguiar's interior matte finish cleaner/protectant, and 303 as well. Just stay away from silicone based protectants, they tend to dry out and break down the interior finishes, no matter what kind of car.

Can someone recommend a decent foam cannon? I was looking at the Chemical Guys TORQ one, but that price... is it that much better than the other brands that are a 1/3 the price?
